In this screenshot check they compared the graphical differences between the PS3 and Xbox 360 version of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2. Which one has the better graphics? Hint: Click on "full-size image" to view the images in original size.
They look almost identical but the color is a bit different...wondering how come they are so freakin clean??Is that MLAA? EDIT. I was wrong...they are using their own method of AA,looks great anyway!
I don't know if any1 notices but the color on the 360 ones can be so dark its hard to see anything in some areas...
you can edit the setting for BLACK level on xbox in HD, standard, intermediate, and extended, something like that lol, too lazy to turn my xbox on
So I downloaded the demo PS3 version and it looks fucking phenomenal. Yeah screeshots don't do the game justice.
Nope, MLAA looks quite a lot better than this AA
No, they are using a custom anti-aliasing method called "Directionally Localized Anti-Aliasing" that is comparable to MLAA in terms of picture quality. DLAA is for GPU but was somehow customized to work with SPU so at the end MLAA is still the superior choice for the PS3. There's some info here: http://and.intercon.ru/rtfr... but you'll have to find it.
Comparable, just how circus ferris wheels and the London eye are comparable ;)
Quote from the doc: [DLAA (Directionally Localized Anti-Aliasing) - our custom anti-aliasing algorithm implemented in Star Wars : The Force Unleashed 2. In terms of picture quality it is comparable with MLAA, but due to perception based probabilistic nature it features high temporal stability and implemented on both the GPU (X360, PC) and PS3 SPUs ]
nothing beats good old MSAA :)
They look the same except the 360 colors always look way to dark. And in some images you can see the PS3 version has elements that the 360 does not.
I played both versions a few times each. They look slightly different, sound slightly different but play identical. I didn't see any performance differences between the two versions while playing them. That is the only comparison that you would think should matter. At least to me it is. I have too many games to purchase this year. SWFU2 I will gamefly. I added both to my Qlist so I will let them decide which one version I get to play.
360 version is better
Lol u lot need to see it in motion the 16p motionblur effects on the ps3 version are incredible, if you compare it to the 360 version it ends up looking like the 360 version is missing half the animations. They spent along time getting those 5 spu working overtime and it pays off very impressive effect on ps3, digital foundry were right for once. In terms of textures, assets are identical but in motion the ps3 looks almost like an exclusive the lighting is also a massive step up from the 360 version.
You people are delusional, MLAA is not visually superior to MSAA in any way, the only difference is that MLAA is on the SPUs which mean they can turn the settings up higher than MSAA, but having 4xMLAA and 4xMSAA compared, they are identical, same method, different implementation. lol @ people who say "MLAA is superior to 16qaa"
lmao @ buying1999 It aint even that serious. Dont let the lames get to you. topic: One is Pale as hell and the other one is Vibrant in colors.
Actually it seems to alternate. One looks pale on PS3 and then next screen it looks pale on the 360. Really odd.
Please...please...PLEASE STOP USING SITE FROM TRANSLATE.GOOGLE.COM.
cool galen vs yoda...
Didn't we already have one of these yesterday? And one "screenshot comparison" story is more than enough, especially when we're resorting to Google translate just to get another....
Also, ITS A DEMO!!! Multiple screenshot comparisons from a damn demo. SMH. But on another note, I thought the demo was pretty bad ass. Its like God of War: Star Wars. I still gotta get the first one. I never felt like throwin down that much for a multi-plat single-player-only game.
PS3 version for me. Just because thats all I have! Still looks amazing on either system Probably not the Wii though
The power of the dark console...
Torn between a rent on console, or purchase on PC. I know I wont play it once Black Ops drops. But yeah, looking good on whatever platform.
rent on console for me
well there isn't rent on pc so... XD
we already know wich is the superior version, as usual, the xbox 360 version, but not for much...can't wait for this game, limited edition for me
I'm not a fanboy but this time xbox 360 version looks better than PS3 version.
where u looking at the same comparision as everyone else?
Dont even have to click let me guess videgamezonede? Another guess their pics make the two version look more similar than they really are. Am I close?
xbox 360 : multiplat KING playstation 3 : exclusive RIVAL multiplats as I always say run better on the 360 almost always and here it shows yet again. Not a big deal since they all look good anyway
totally agree with you. 360 seems to have the advantage on multiplat titles. PS3 exclusive titles are more graphicaly impressive than 360 exclusives. Two reasons to why so many titles look better on 360 is the PC architecture familiarities of the 360 compared to ps3 and the unreal engine 3 running better on 360. A LOTS of the new games coming out are running on the unreal engine. So even if you release 40 games with the unreal engine, the results are almost always better on 360.
xbox 360: multiplat king generally PS3: exclusive king full stop.
screw all the comparisons. i'm gonna boot both demos at home on HDMI and compare them with my own eyes.
The only way to trust the results.
I use Lensoftruth.com for these, and for this game, the 360 wins hands down. All shots had more detail and vibrant colors on the 360 version. The PS3 version by no means looks bad, but the 360 definitely had more detail.
Im calling bullshit on these shots. I am playing the PS3 demo right now and it looks phenomenal. Better than the screenshota would have you believe. On my tv right now it looks terrific.
Have you noticed and screen tearing. The last article said it was worse on the ps3 but I didn't notice any.
PS 3 has the Move. If that is used in this game then it is a must buy on the PS3.
Nope, doesn't. Anyone heard if EA is patching that in? (is it EA?)
It's Star Wars, it's always Lucas Arts.
i just came in here to say that these comparisons NEVER look like how the games look on my TV, on either my 360 OR my PS3. i don't get it. maybe it's the way i have my TVs calibrated (i have two HDTVS, the PS3 hooked up to one, the 360 hooked up to the other). the screens in these comparisons never look as sharp and clear as my TV. NEVER. and that goes for ALL comparisons i've seen over the years. anyway, the demo of the Force Unleashed 2 has convinced me; i may actually get this game if i have some extra money left this year. it was incredibly fun, and looked and felt WAAAAY better than the original. the controls were surprisingly responsive, and some of the gripes i had with the original seem to be addressed here.
to me the 360 version is not as clear or crisp. the ps3 seems to be a little more clearer. just a little sharper of a picture.and the 360 looks extremely dark.
I thought it was just my tv settings but I noticed that too.
I have only played the demo of the PS3 version, but the game is beautiful and quite the upgrade from the first one. At any rate, the game not only looks great, but it plays and runs like silk. I was very impressed with the demo and went ahead and pre-ordered it.
The PS3 version has more subtle effects judging from these shots.
PS3 wins again. Castlevania, now this. Becoming a trend.
I was gonna get the 360 version only because I got the first one on 360, but after playing the demos, I might get the ps3 one. I prefer the look of the lightsaber (sorry but prequel lightsabers kick ass), the FMV was cleaner (360 was too compressed), and, I may be tripping but, the sound was superior as well. The lightsaber sounds have more oomph.
