They look almost identical but the color is a bit different...wondering how come they are so freakin clean??Is that MLAA?

EDIT.
I was wrong...they are using their own method of AA,looks great anyway!

valanceer3294d ago

I don't know if any1 notices but the color on the 360 ones can be so dark its hard to see anything in some areas...

STIINGRAYS3294d ago

you can edit the setting for BLACK level on xbox in HD, standard, intermediate, and extended, something like that lol, too lazy to turn my xbox on

Longrod_Von_Hugendon3294d ago

So I downloaded the demo PS3 version and it looks fucking phenomenal. Yeah screeshots don't do the game justice.

shazui1233294d ago

Nope, MLAA looks quite a lot better than this AA

Gue13294d ago

No, they are using a custom anti-aliasing method called "Directionally Localized Anti-Aliasing" that is comparable to MLAA in terms of picture quality. DLAA is for GPU but was somehow customized to work with SPU so at the end MLAA is still the superior choice for the PS3.

There's some info here: http://and.intercon.ru/rtfr...
but you'll have to find it.

killzowner3294d ago

Comparable, just how circus ferris wheels and the London eye are comparable ;)

Quote from the doc:
[DLAA (Directionally Localized Anti-Aliasing) - our custom anti-aliasing algorithm implemented in Star Wars : The Force Unleashed 2. In terms of picture quality it is comparable with MLAA, but due to perception based probabilistic nature it features high temporal stability and implemented on both the GPU (X360, PC) and PS3 SPUs ]

nothing beats good old MSAA :)

Longrod_Von_Hugendon3294d ago (Edited 3294d ago )

They look the same except the 360 colors always look way to dark. And in some images you can see the PS3 version has elements that the 360 does not.

Boody-Bandit3294d ago (Edited 3294d ago )

I played both versions a few times each. They look slightly different, sound slightly different but play identical. I didn't see any performance differences between the two versions while playing them. That is the only comparison that you would think should matter. At least to me it is.

I have too many games to purchase this year. SWFU2 I will gamefly. I added both to my Qlist so I will let them decide which one version I get to play.

jack_burt0n3294d ago

Lol u lot need to see it in motion the 16p motionblur effects on the ps3 version are incredible, if you compare it to the 360 version it ends up looking like the 360 version is missing half the animations.

They spent along time getting those 5 spu working overtime and it pays off very impressive effect on ps3, digital foundry were right for once.

In terms of textures, assets are identical but in motion the ps3 looks almost like an exclusive the lighting is also a massive step up from the 360 version.

Nihilism3293d ago

You people are delusional, MLAA is not visually superior to MSAA in any way, the only difference is that MLAA is on the SPUs which mean they can turn the settings up higher than MSAA, but having 4xMLAA and 4xMSAA compared, they are identical, same method, different implementation.

lol @ people who say "MLAA is superior to 16qaa"

lmao @ buying1999

It aint even that serious. Dont let the lames get to you.

topic: One is Pale as hell and the other one is Vibrant in colors.

cayal3293d ago

Actually it seems to alternate. One looks pale on PS3 and then next screen it looks pale on the 360. Really odd.
