Learn how to dance to Poison in the new Dance Central Kinect Trailer.
day 1 purchase!
I don't know if you are being sarcastic but it actually looks pretty good.
that is not you dancing.
people have tested this and kinect does a poor job of recognizing your movements. you can easily half ass it and it will still say "Perfect" just look up videos on youtube
I'm dead serious @ImpartialMan IGN's video previews (about 3 so far) tend to say otherwise. So what are you talking about? http://www.ign.com/videos/2...
yea.... it is so accurate that this guy got "HElla Good" http://www.youtube.com/watc...
That was one of the funniest things that I have seen this week! But, this is EXACTLY why this game will sell like gangbusters. He didn't even have to be DRUNK to dance that bad! Either way, it looks like it will be the MOST fun with a dancer like this...no matter whether the camera is ACTUALLY tracking movements or not. Add a karaoke mode to this and you would have the ultimate party game.
Honestly this looks fun. The choreo is loveably 90s. I need play it.
Looks like these types of games is all kinest is good for.. ah well, im down with that as i apsolutely LOVE dancing..
I don't get this game? The character on the screen doesn't reflect what your doing, you might as well just be watching a dance video. At one point it takes a video of everyone dancing and flashes it on screen (which is cool) but otherwise you might as well be playing Just Dance for the wii.
the trailer looks great, but the person playing the game will look ridiculous.
MS and Harmonix, you can gladly have my money for this. Love everything about this game and then some...
It certainly looks fun, but how compatible will it be?
But this song SLAPS!! Slappin' YEEE
Looks fun, ya?
If they want to sell Kinects off bat. The whole boat jumping and cat tickling scene will do, but this will make people want to spend to get it. But at $200 ($150 for Kinect and $50 for the game), I don't see this as an option for me.
...at least 50% of them will buy this game at launch.
LOL you ps3fanboys amuse me "bububububu but The character on the screen doesn't reflect what your doing, you might as well just be watching a dance video." "bububububu bu the game can't tell you if you are doing it right or wrong" hahahah pfff just watch this preview http://www.youtube.com/watc... The game even have hard mode, just look how the character have a red light around his body to show you that you're doing it wrong... keep crying fanboys kinect is soldout almost everywhere, the launch will be huge, even sony knows it and delayed GT5 after the kinect fever. Move already lost against kinect.
So what if the game has a hard mode....the point is what the character does on screen has NOTHING to do with what you are doing. Why is it not 1to1? Why don't the characters mimic what YOU are doing and not what you SHOULD do if you were to do it perfectly? What happened to YOU are the controller? This is just dance dance revolution with a different interface...nothing more. Yes it will probably sell very well...but is THIS what you paid $150 for? A game that does its own thing while the casual observer and gamer "thinks" they are the ones dancing on the screen. I would really like to see something that WORKS with Kinect that the PSeye cannot do in 1to1 utilizing the 3D depth camera....as of yet I have seen nothing that Kinect can do that the Eye cannot. I am not trying to troll I am just trying to get those who so blindly support Kinect to see that so far...all we have seen is smoke and mirrors for $150 big ones.
You do not make any sense what so ever, and keep repeating the same garbage as though you think you are on to something. If some one is instruting you on what to do, how are you going to know if you are doing it right with out a reference. If you watch the vid on youtube, you will find that people get better later in the videos. Next you are spending way too much time watching and analizing Kinect games for a guy that has no interest in the and on. You should be playing those great Hardcore games with Move, not trolling Kinect article repeating yourself. What is your goal?
"What happened to YOU are the controller? This is just dance dance revolution with a different interface...nothing more." lol, well it is different than dance revolution, but yes of course it is still a *Dance game afterall, thats like saying Halo is no different than KZ, just because their both FPS and then the fact you just completely downplay the most important aspect with the quick "different interface...nothing more." comment in the next breath shows your lack of understanding on the subject because thats the whole point kinect allows you to "interact"= control this dance game much differently than you would with wii or move. Thus, "YOU are the controller" Take a look: http://www.ign.com/videos/2... http://www.ign.com/videos/2... -So lets see the editor at IGN HAS PLAYED THE GAME HIMSELF, he does a really good **video preview**, consequently he seems to really like the game and thinks it works very well, look at the girl "dip it low" in the second vid, seems pretty accurate to me, now personally I can understand if its not your cup of tea and you disagree with him on that basis but at least he has tried it, shows video proof of what he says and generally already has some creditability vs a random fanboy on the internet who has never played the game= 0 creditability. btw, why do you care if some think this is worth $150? What 1 game does move have currently available worth $150? JOY
Even though I know that I wouldn't enjoy it since I hate dancing, it does look good. I would expect Harmonix to do a good job of it anyway and I honestly think this could possibly be the big game for Kinect. I mean this will appeal to the casual market I am sure of it.
I'm not really sure this is my cup of tea (the only dance I can do is the dance Carlton does on Fresh Prince), but I have to admit I'm impressed by the tech behind it. Looking at the videos JokesOnYou posted, the camera seems to be much more accurate than I expected. This also seems to have the kind of mass-market appeal the Kinect will need to do well in the US.
Where do you see the game character mimicking the player? I don't see it...and at 1:48 of the second video you can see the onscreen character starting up its next animation BEFORE the player even starts to dance again. You can also see the player dipping much further down than the onscreen character...again player mimicking character NOT character mimicking player. I am not debating whether or not this game will be fun to play...I am simply saying that it is more smoke and mirrors than at first glance.
I don't even understand this argument. You're supposed to be mimicking a dance routine. That would be hard to do if it was just showing what you were doing. The reason it doesn't mimic YOU is because that would make it impossible to see what you're SUPPOSED to be doing. Also, during the freestyle portion of the second video, the screen very clearly shows what the player is actually doing, because it doesn't have to be showing you specific moves for you to follow. The ability to show your motions via the on-screen avatar has already been shown in other games, but for gameplay reasons, this game doesn't.
I saw a video in this article --> http://n4g.com/news/600560/... that showed how utterly pointless it is to even dance in this game. The guy in that video was just fooling around and got a 4/5 rating for it. Lucky for you the person who showed us the video has his comments (all of them) marked as "spam" so I can't find you the video. The user is bringitson --> http://n4g.com/user/comment... He got silenced by the mods. I believe I will get some kind of a slap on the wrist for even talking like this. I've come to realize I'm being followed just so they can disagree to what I say and vote my bubbles away. This site has been pro-x360 since Halo got released at least. Say anything bad, even a joke which puts something associated with MS in a bad light you will get marked "oftopic" or something and most likely you get banned for a few days. I might get the same silence-treatment for saying this. Just look at this thread for proof --> http://n4g.com/news/618744/... Each and every negative comment about F3 got marked as offtopic or spam. This is how fair the system we have here is. Look from comment #8.1 onwards.

JOY
meh not spending £120 on kinect, but i am getting ddr for my move which only cost me £50
we played it at e3 and this was the only game i liked the others were dry as the desert
Don't knock Dance Central just because it uses Kinect. It might come to the PlayStation 3 using the PlayStation Eye.
