VGD: Medal of Honor Campaign Review

"EA’s choice of setting has doubtless exposed the game to a broader crowd; the trade-off is a shooter that can be neither too real nor too unreal for fear of giving offence, but needs to be a touch more of either if it’s to match – let alone exceed – its most obvious inspiration."

If anyone's after a provisional score, this is hovering round a 7 right now. The multiplayer seems to be the better half of the package, from what I've read, so that number may yet put on weight...

I still can't work out why they split the project in two. Why not just give it all to DICE?

femshep2928d ago

cause all the battlefields were meant to be online games medal of honor has always had a track record of having a good single so its only fair to slit it so the single played doesn't get butchered and have the fate of call of duty

I think to get the game out faster. Wasn't it announced late last year/early this year? The work flow would be faster with a dedicated studio on each end of the project.

yeah it was so it was prolly a good year maybe year in a half in progress

Note for readers post-50-degree rating - I've rewritten the part of the article quoted above, on account of it being what we reviewers call "incomprehensible bilge". This is the new concluding paragraph :)

"Medal of Honor is a remarkably reluctant blockbuster, not so much empowered as plagued by its eye-catching choice of setting – hungry for spectacle and extravagance, but fearful of giving offence."

What beautifully written dribble.

Anything further to add? :)

...until I have been able to play the game. Picking it up on Friday when its released in my neck of the woods. However, regardless of its level of eyecandy (or lack their of) there is no excuse for the single player campaign for being so short.

The length is a bit poo, yes. Remember when shooters used to be ten hours plus?
