Medal Of Honor Xbox 360 Review - NowGamer

NowGamer reviews Medal Of Honor on Xbox 360 - "Unlike games that live or die by their standout moments, Medal Of Honor is unique in that we have never actually come across anything of such categorically divided quality. Where, occasionally, sub-standard offerings have one or two pieces of memorable gameplay bric-a-brac, we can’t remember the last time whole sections are of such disparately high quality from the rest, they feel like playing a different game entirely"

Seems like NowGamers PS3 reviewer was more fond of it. He gave it an 8.6/10.

@enkeixpress - Actually, I've seen lots of 8's and some 9's as well.

I have yet to see a single 9. And this is more along the lines i thought it would score in my eyes.

The game is getting mostly 6s from various reviewers..

Hmmm, I'm starting to ponder on whether I should get this on day one or not.. (UK)

:(

wow ign gave it a straight 6.0

Ashriel2981d ago

wow, and the same game got 8.6, but because it's the ps3 version.

nowgamer needs to change their multiplatform review system, it's really misleading.

Totally agree. They should just review a game on the one platform. Does MOH Frontline make that big a difference ? It shouldn't really.

I agree with you to a certain extent, having both versions in our hands, I can honestly tell you that the PS3 version - being the lead development platform - doesn't suffer a lot of the same problems as the Xbox version does.

In this case, the two disparate scores represent not a discordance of opinion between two reviewers, but a genuine chasm of quality between the two versions of the game.

The alternative to not scoring those separately is that reviews which claim to be multiformat and give it eights or nines (Eurogamer etc.) no doubt reviewed it on the PS3, but failed to say so. On the other hand, those who reviewed it on 360 (NowGamer, 360 Magazine, IGN) reported all the same problems. In fact, if you read the NowGamer review and the IGN one, it's startling how similar their complaints are.

A review which claims to be multiformat, simply cannot point out the obvious differences between the two versions and for that reason, I say NowGamer's system wins. There you have two reviews, both of which scored as accurately as possible, but making it clear that one's great and the other ... not so much.

Im a bit confused, are the two versions that drastically different?

units2981d ago

two different reviewers

SuperStrokey11232981d ago

I understand that but there should be at least some kind of relationship there as "professionals". There needs to be some kind of impartial yard stick that they are comparing each against to determine values (although how would you even devise such a thing?). This is why scoring on reviews kinda sucks... wait for some word of mouth on this one i guess.
