Andrew Storrier Writes: We are only a few measly days away from our featured PlayStation Unlimited Review of 2K’s reigning champion basketball simulation, NBA 2k11. Much is expected from this years outing, tighter yet more fluid gameplay and playing as Michael Jordan (ZOMG!) and with the way things have been progressing, it look as if the 2K series will be emphatically tomahawking this one home.
This brings us to NBA Elite 11, EA’s desperation half-court fling at the buzzer to try and at least tie things up with 2K. It’s last outing, NBA Live 10 was thumped on the charts. It managed only 400,000 shipped units on the PS3 to 2K10′s 750,000. If you take into account other platforms, 2K10 doubles Live’s sales. Ouch. Now, with Elite being delayed until at least sometime in 2011, it is predicted to lose some $60 million in sales and be a major contributor to EA’s projected revenue downturn for the Holiday quarter.
