PES fails to topple FIFA

Konami’s PES 2011 has entered the UKIE GfK Chart-Track UK Top 40 in second spot in its debut week, failing to shift last week’s No.1 FIFA 11 from the top position.

Last year PES 2010 managed to secure the top spot upon its release on October 23rd, though its arrival was some three weeks after EA’s as opposed to this year where we’ve had just a single week in between releases.

Sales of the new football game also heavily favour PS3, which claimed a 71 per cent share. The series has traditionally been a core PlayStation brand, and the large modding community that patches in all the official kits and club info missing from the official release is very PS3-orientated.

it's 'tap, tap, tap, tap.. tap (a goal shot)' vs. 'tap, figure out where exactly you want to place the ball, make sure you aim it correctly, make sure you watch that power gauge, tap, think again where/who you want to give the ball to, aim, watch the gauge, scream because you screwed up, etc...' game.
