Why do I always get a twinge of sadness whenever I see a transalte.google article waiting to get approved on N4G?

Convas5327d ago

Sigh. I too wish they would stop submitting and leave us alone.

ExplosionSauce5327d ago

It's actually a pretty decent screen comparison.
But still yeah, I have to agree with you guys.

Foliage5327d ago

Lens of Truth is bullshit.

They capture images on the 360, and edit them to look different and claim they are the PS3 version.

The website in this article is a heck of a lot more legitimate.

hay5327d ago

I think it's a mourning for quality.

YoshiMeetsU5327d ago

Because 95 percent of the time it's unreadable garbage?

remember kids, sites like this just wants hits

Which site doesn't want hits? oO

NAGNEWS5327d ago

looks like some one care about the ps3 version ;)

me like it

xJxdOggyStYLe5327d ago

like the brightness looks just a little diffrent..which u can alter that at the start of game where it asks you to move the little bar until u can only see the 2 skulls not 3...other then that....they look exactly the same to me...so a professionally made multi plat game...good job...and by the way the game is gorgeous and so far loving it :)

Convas5327d ago (Edited 5327d ago )

Damn LOL, you're completely right. I forgot about that. Did videogameszone.de turn up the brightness all the way on purpose to make the 360 version look washed out? Because, the Lens of Truth look at the demo is pretty much how it looks on my 19" LCD Monitor.

Hmmmmmmm. Food for thought ...

dragonelite5327d ago

It seems so i thought journo always said the 360 version had the better contrast. But the capture device is not wonky because those devices came from digital foundry.

But dam what a gorgeous game.
Can't wait for the 14th before it comes out in europe(?)

avengers19785326d ago

Why do you all continue to come to the website, and click on it's stories if it's so unreliable and so crappy. First of all almost every site has the same exact news stories. Some of you think Lens of Truth is great while some think it's complete BS.
PS3 looks better... you can't really deny it.
Talk about the brightness level all you want the PS3 version looks better

There, I just saved you a click :)

edit: The only difference I see is brightness, I could be wrong though.

dragonelite5327d ago

Yeah they changed the brightness i believe digital foundry tweeted both version are extremely close.

blahblah5326d ago (Edited 5326d ago )

if you look more carefully, rocks, ground and such. ps3 employs quality texture and blur while xbox employs mostly noised rendered ones. for some textures i really like what xbox version does, some textures look way better than ps3 ones (like rock under his feet on second picture). and some textures just get annoyingly noisy getting much better treatment on ps3.

kinda draw in my book. both versions look good and after you do the aftermath that during gameplay you don't stare at the same picture, difference is unnoticeable. anyone saying otherwise is probably just a fanboy prick.

i only own ps3, and HMV in ffxiii looked better on ps3 (in comparisions). but... did i noticed that? game is a game

FiftyFourPointTwo5327d ago

Not this HD screenshot comparison shit again. Why cant we all just be happy that both camps are getting the game.

hay5327d ago

'Cause we don't want people from other camps to be as happy as we are with the very same game!

no_more_heroes5327d ago (Edited 5327d ago )

360 version sometimes has more of a green hue and less shadows. Not that it matters, though. If it concerns you, set the 360 display settings to RGB and you'll get all the darkness you want

pyramid1215327d ago

The PS3 has sharper colours and better shadows.

360 looked noticable washed out and blured.....

ohh well ps3 was lead platform afterall.

pyramid1215327d ago

15 disagree? look @ the pictures the 360 looks washed out FFS compared to ps3.

15 disagree is what you get for stating the difference in those pics? AHAHAH!

Silentmerc3nary5327d ago

Stop being picky. They both look awesome.

Indeed, I always count all of the jagged edges and pixelated shadows when I play games, as well compare the color pallet to my handy little color guide. I have nothing better to do.

mittwaffen5327d ago (Edited 5327d ago )

http://www.lensoftruth.com/...

Dont blow things out of proportion on tiny ass images, tens of truth is there to save the day.

They are identical on a 'real' comparison, see how your logic is flawed using a shoddy website with even worse screen captures.

acky15327d ago

360 version does look more washed out but it's so neglible... who cares? These graphics comparison are so boring. You're never gonna play them side by side so who cares.

ministryx5327d ago

it's the same damn thing, the ps3 has super white on and rgb full range on. The 360 has stardard HDMI color sourse, but you can switch it to full too and looks identical, the question is the frame rate?????????????????

BYE5327d ago

The bigger problem is the framerate issue the 360 version has, according to reviewers.

Although being linear, which I wish it wasn't, the first game was absolutely incredible. A mix of old school God of War meets Date's Inferno; I was highly impressed by this title. I heard the sequel was trash so I ever played it but I think LoS was a good example of how a 3D CV game could be.

rgraf771675d ago (Edited 1675d ago )

I was very happy the game was Linear as I hate exploring. The first game was one of my all time favorites and the 2nd game was a total letdown with the lame hub system and stealth sections. Playing in current times sucked too. I wish they would make a remaster of part 1.

magdiellima1675d ago

Good as a game but terrible as a Castlevania. The sequence was even worse.

Terry_B1675d ago

It is a great game, but just like DMC is not a Devil May Cry..this one was not a Castlevania :-)

FreeckyCake1674d ago

Give Castlevania to Igarashi team, and they will nail it as they did with Lament of Innocence and Curse of Darkness.

Terrifyingly Bad: A Look Back At the 3D Castlevania Games

If you decide to play a Castlevania game, make sure it's in 2D. Unfortunately, the series has never been able to make the jump from 2D to 3D successfully. Publisher Konami has tried. Six times in fact, but whether trying to build it in-house or with a third party developer, they never captured the essence of the series or make a good game for that matter. So just to be sure you know what to look out for, here are the six 3D Castlevania games that have been made.

isarai2032d ago

I loved the hell out of lords of shadow, lords if shadow 2 had its moments but just didnt leave as much of an impact on me as the first did, still loved it though. They are both great games IMO, maybe not the best "Castlevania" games but great games in their own right.

RememberThe3572031d ago

Yeah that first game was legit good. Really wish they hadn't taken a step back for the second, this series really looked great in 3D.

AK912030d ago (Edited 2030d ago )

According to one of the former devs of Mercury Steam the higher ups kept interfering with the sequel to the point where the game was nothing like what the dev team had envisioned for the sequel so we got the mess that was Lords of Shadows 2.

PhoenixUp2032d ago

I enjoyed Lament of Innocence and Lords of Shadow. They were entertaining titles and I wouldn’t mind trying Lords of Shadow 2 on PS Now.

Just because a game isn’t GOTY worthy does not mean it’s not worth playing. You could do a lot worse than those exceptional titles.

Abcdefeg2031d ago

Curse of darkness was ahead of its time

Hedstrom2031d ago

I really liked lament of innocence and Lords of shadow! Havent tried the other 3d games. But ive played most of the 2d games!

gangsta_red2031d ago (Edited 2031d ago )

I don't know why Castlevania: Lament of Innocence gets a bad rap. It was one of the best in the series at that time and really was a compliment to the Devil May Cry 3rd person style of action that was getting popular at that time.

I rented it on a fluke and was seriously surprised on how good it was. So much so I went out and bought a used copy of Curse of Darkness and instantly returned that trash.

The problem with Nintendo 64 games is they all tried to mimic the Mario/Zelda 64 style of gameplay and how could they not with that whacky ass N64 controller. Almost every game outside of Nintendo's own felt horrible and incomplete.
