Sony may have got the concept of Move from the Wii but they improved it on so many levels. Kinect didn't really copy Wii they copied the Eyetoy's concept and made it more advanced. Yes a video proves everything. I mean it only came out after Moved was announced and 3 years after the Wii remote was shown but no way in hell it could be fake. I mean it isnt like you can just put in any date into a camera these days...

Coming out after their development cycle for Move is kinda what gives it away as fake. They simply recorded that footage in 08 and slapped a 2001 date on it.

Really if this video existed when Wii was announced Sony would have said something long before 08. I mean with them having almost the exact same design and all.

First, if I recall, Track and Field used a mat sort of like Dance Dance Revolution, it's not considered motion control. Second, I'm not arguing the fact that Nintendo invented the Power Glove first. I;'m simply stating the fact that Sony didn't get their motion controller concept from the Wii.

ps3 may be last place but its still fighting back, its the underdog of this generation thats why i declare PS3 winner of this gen. 360 and wii may have the #'s but they dont have the fighting spirit like PS3.

I agree with the author, especially the last part(1.Gaming as a product to sell). Now I know it is not me that for the most part find games of previous generations better than this current generation of video games. All this time I thought I was loosing touch or interest with one of my favorite hobbies for over 20 years. The author hit the nail on the bulls-eye on what I have been trying to figure out since the beginning of this generation, which is most games now-a-days are more about product than entertainment/video game. In other words most video games have lost what made the hobby in general so enjoyable and special in previous generations because most games "product" overshadows the actual entertainment/video game.

The video game industry is a business and companies need to make money, but most of the industry are placing "product" of more importance than the actual video games themselves. And that is why I think one of the main reasons why the industry is in a drought and/or in a rough/bad state, because eventually if companies keep on churning out more and more of the same formula by always making the safe bet by producing more of the same customers are going to get fed up and bored of seeing similar game types being released time after time over and over. Eventually people will buy less and less if it is more of the same game type being released over time. Which brings me to my next point on why the industry is in a drought and/or in a rough/bad state, and that is plain old corporate greed: ie- initially selling an incomplete game and then selling the remaining part(s) as dlc just to milk the customers out of their hard earned cash, or too high of an asking price for games. Well guess what game companies? people have less money to spend due to corporate greed, thus causing customers to spend less on new games resulting in companies making less profits than expected, and in a bad economic time that not only the u.s.a is facing but the rest of the gaming planet is going through, corporate greed could not happen at a worse time.

And I know that most game companies are pointing the finger on the used games market, well guess what game companies? the used games market has been around since the video game industry began and has not stopped the video game industry from flourishing financially so why should it be the exception now?. If more people are buying used games more than new games than ever before these days what does that tell you game companies that you should do? STOP BEING GREEDY, STOP SELLING INCOMPLETE GAMES AND SELLING THE REMAINING GAME PARTS AS DLC, QUIT TAKING THE SAFE ROUTE AND TAKE MORE RISKS ONCE IN A WHILE BY PRODUCING NEW UNIQUE OR GROUNDBREAKING GAMES INSTEAD OF THE SAME OLD, STOP TINKERING AND CHANGING SUCCESSFUL FRANCHISES SUCH AS THE RESIDENT EVIL FRANCHISE AS OF THE LAST COUPLE OF MAIN RESIDENT EVIL GAME RELEASES, AND LOWER YOUR PRICES ON YOUR GAMES....

HAVE I EXPLAINED CLEARLY ENOUGH TO YOU GREEDY GAME COMPANIES ON WHY YOU ARE IN A BAD FINANCIAL STATE, BECAUSE IF YOU CANT UNDERSTAND WHAT I HAVE JUST STATED IN THIS POST AND TAKE THE RIGHT INITIATIVE TO IMPROVE YOUR BAD SITUATION I DON'T KNOW WHAT WILL!!!

Not all game companies are greedy by nickle and diming their customers, but a lot of game companies are these days. I know game companies need to make money, but how much is enough whereas you don't have to ripp-off your customers and make a good profit in the process of giving your customers a game that is worth their money without milking their wallets after their initial(and should be final in most cases) investment.

Good read, but two counter points..

5.Wii ideas Rip Off - I don't think there is any deception going on here. We all know where the Move/Kinect idea came from, but so what? A new peripheral for a console we already own is a good thing, not a bad thing.

1.Gaming as a product to sell - Hate to break it to the author, but the video games they sell at the store have ALWAYS been products. Nobody is buying them to hang in art galleries.

Consoles didn't ruin PC gaming, but PC gaming is still definitely the way to go, if you don't mind forking a hundred dollars out for a graphics card.

My 7 deceptions:

1. Gamers give more of a shit about games and not the console they play them on.

2. Gamers pay for DLC thinking they'll get their money's worth.

3. Gamers pay to play -- i.e. Live. not renewed Live sub and don't plan on doing so.

4. Gamers rate the value of a game or system based on sales (looking at Alan Wake).

5. A console that has lesser graphics (Wii) must suck ass. (in direct contradiction to (4) if we challenge hardware sales).

6. Gamers will get the better end of the deal.

7. Exclusives are the end all be all.

Edit: replace 7 above with maybe: "my penis gets larger with the more platinums and 1000s I get. My gamerscore and/or trophy list has a direct correlation to my penis size".

Seriously. Why is there haters? I've got a PS3 & 360 and I enjoy what both has to offer. My neighbor has a Wii and I like it very much. I can tell good sides of every console.

360: XBL is awesome even if it costs for me 40€ a year. It has also some great exclusives e.g Halo, Gears Of War, Fable, L4D (yes I count console exclusives), Crackdown and more.

PS3: Blu-Ray. Great exclusives e.g Uncharted 2, LBP, God Of war, Heavy rain, MAG and more. Also a great UI.

Wii: Awesome Exclusives: Mario Galaxy, Metroid, Zelda, Red Steel and lots of more. Also the Wiimote is awesome and when it came out it was revolutionary.

I don't understand with all the hate. Every console has it's strong and weak points. Just enjoy what your consoles has to offer. =)
