Competition breeds better products. Sports fans have been complaining about this for years, and when there is only one game available for a particular sport, it often leads to future releases that can be questioned for their lack of innovation. While sports like soccer, tennis, and baseball have multiple games for you to choose from, other sports genres haven't been so lucky.
Aside from the mediocre computer AI, it's a pretty good title. I'd also recommend MLB 2k11 (I have the Wii version, no online support, but it's still fun to play).
On ps2, I was the biggest NHL 2k fan, too bad they gave it away to EA...

I haven't played it, but thought it sounded pretty good with the inclusion of WM+ and online with Wii Speak.
