Gears Of War 3 Delayed, Could We See First Non-Bungie Halo?

All because of marketing, and being able to have a big name title at the very end of the year. For a lot of gamers this is pretty awful news, since Microsoft has yet to announce any other big-name title for the end of 2011. Well, Microsoft said they'd be releasing one Halo game a year. So the fact Halo: Reach just came out doesn't really mean anything.

If they had a new Halo they wouldn't have moved GoW3, they would've just released Halo in September as they always do. I think they moved Gears because they realized they didn't have anything bigger than that for september.

No, MS just said that they'd probably release Halo games more often than once every three years from now on. They DIDN'T say one Halo a year.

ya dont notice but its been 3 yrs str8 getting a new halo. first halo 3, then a year break. then halo wars, yr after odst, this year reach. next halo grab. Finish the fight again!, this time! for real!

games fun, but an exclusive loses its beauty when its released every year like a COD. not that wars was a real halo game, but still, halo's name was on it

Every year I read articles about how MS dos not have any game the next year,But guess what?
This years are:Alan wake,Mass effect,Halo reach, upcoming Fable 3,Sniper Ghost warrior,Splinter cell. Last year was the same article and look what we got. I bought everyone of them. And I have a Ps3 And enjoy the exclusive there too.My brother bought Move and I enjoyed it, cant wait for Kinect. This is just Lame

it could easily be some kind of halo product in the first half of 2011, too soon to tell either way. halo wars mentioned above is a good point, and MS definitely isn't above milking their key franchise. on the other hand, gears was probably delayed because the new 343 halo is behind schedule.

Halo 5 should be a launch title for the xbox next.
That would create an explosion of launch sales of xbox's.

Next year the 360 will have plenty of exclusives, it doesnt matter if they are third party or first party, what matters is that they are exclusive.

Maybe next year we will also get to see what Peter Jacksons studio is currently developing for MS.

Well, i at least have to admit that the odds it will be called Halo4, are bigger then the Next Xbox being called the 720.

360 stands for all around, a complete 3d experience.
What would 720 stand for?

And the next Halo will be 1st party, so its expected to be Halo 5.

343 are the ones who put up job descriptions for a Next Gen Halo Title. So I have no idea what this is about. Gears of War 3 delay means either one of these two things.

(1) Microsoft has two (2) announced core exclusives coming. Codename: Kingdoms and Gears of War 3. In a bid to make their sparse line-up as profitable as possible, they moved GoW3 to the Holidays. (The Most Likely Situation)

(2) Microsoft has an exclusive(s) planned and decided to put (it/them) (in/around) the space(s) that Gears of War was supposed to occupy. These are unannounced and would fit MS's modus operandi of announcing titles closer to their release date. (Extremely Unlikely)

I'm thinking that it's closer to option one, but I know for sure that it's NOT 343's Halo. FACT. We don't need another Halo til AT LEAST 2012. Late 2012.

theyre trying to focus on kinect from nov through xmas and with all the kinect games coming next year they moved gow3 back so kinect will not have huge compitition from it. Makes sense to me. All those tgs games early next year on through xmas 2011. It will be a free for all for new games if kinect catches on which theyre hoping for.

Bungie is working on a new Halo game. It's called U.N.S.C Covenant Brothers and its a remake of Halo Combat Evolved. It's from a new independent studio that some former Bungie employees formed, called Studio 343.

The 360 Exclusive list for 2011 is two deep Codename Kingdoms and Gears 3 but.....

You push Gears 3 back for the big September title and promote Dead Space 2, Bulletstorm, Ghost Recon, Crysis 2, FEAR 3, Brink, Warhammer Space Marine, Homefront, Red Faction Armageddon, and Aliens Colonial Marines to fill in the FPS gaps very nicely.

There is a big title FPS coming out every month in 2011 until Gears 3 so 360 fans should be happy as all these titles will play and look better than the PS3 version.

My only complaint is Gears 3 now goes up against Rage in September 2011.

All your titles are multiplat. PS3 has exclusives placed in that same list of games. Gears will rock, and this game kingdom, the crytek game has shown nothing worth getting hyped on, just goes to show xbox fans are dying for EXCLUSIVES!!!!
