WhenSpamAttacks.com writes: "After the disappointment that was F1:CE (no offense Sony), years passed with no word on what would happen with the F1 license. That all changed in April of 2008 when Codemasters announced that they had obtained the rights to make F1 games until 2011 (with an option for 2012). Fast forward 2.5 years and the highly anticipated F1 2010 has finally been released. Was it worth the wait? You bet your sweet ass it was!
Now, without sounding like a graphics whore, F1 2010 is gorgeous. The cars are sharp, as are the crews, but it’s the track-side details that really stand out. Each circuit is practically dead-on compared to it’s real-life counterpart. Buildings in the background are accurately rendered, as are fences and grandstands. At any given time you’ll likely see birds flying about in the sky, or dandelions floating through the air, depending on the location..."
An update on EA SPORTS™ WRC.
Dear Rally Community,
Every great journey eventually finds its finish line, and today, we announce that we've reached the end of the road working on WRC.
'It marked the first time the studio had used the license in 18 years since 2022’s Colin McRae Rally 3.'
Can you not get AI to do proofreading?
Weird article written by a bot.
In any case I knew EA would ruin Codemasters.
Multiple games developed by Codemasters have been delisted on Steam just recently without any previous warning from EA.
Here’s the deal with this bullsh*t, and this is the single reason I f*cking hate digital, this wouldn’t be so much an issue if these people would give an announcement before they pull their games so people have a chance to get them before they’re gone. I mean, how hard is that to do?
Like, I prefer digital for the convenience of it and making me less of a hoarder, but stuff like this can drive me up the wall and I’m aware this also happens with physical games, but you can still acquire a game from eBay, though all scalped to hell, whereas digital you’re SOL… unless you have a PC.
These games had exactly 0 players. If you haven't played any of them by now you really didn't care in the slightest. Suddenly you're dying to play one of these classic turds? Sail to cs.rin.ru.
i mean .. i hate this practise. atleast give people like a 2 months headsup.
idiots
The F1 24 announcement seems imminent, as the Champions Edition cover and details have surfaced in F1 23's game files after the latest patch.
To Sony, and so many other companies in this industry, the short-term satisfaction and happiness of their shareholders means so much more to them than their employees, their products, and their customers.
Quick note: the reviewer is a moderator on the Official Codemasters F1 forums. Not that it matters, you can tell plenty of hours were put into the game to form his own review :)
Great to see how much people are enjoying the game despite the well-documented bugs. 8.6/10... time to start scoring out of 100? ;)
Good read though.
freezing up, framerate pretty bad at times, AI not pitting at times, cars coming out of pits when theres not enough time to get round for a flying lap invisible car winning race, these are just a few of the bugs i've seen up to race 7 season 2
still loving it think its cos ive been starved of f1 since F1:CE
Apart from the pit-stop bugs, knowing that the AI lap-times are pre-defined takes away the air of realism from the game. I mean, qualifying is pretty much a lonely chore when you realize the AI cars are there for visual purposes only. On top of that, the no safety car thing is just absurd for an F1 game.
It's not a horrible game per se. It's just that it's quite a bit underwhelming for an F1 game coming from Codemasters. I've done a couple of seasons in Career Mode and I'm already done with the game. The fun factor and the illusion of realism is lost even without the glitches. The devs better step it up a few notches in the next game, otherwise I'm not buying another disappointment.
