psp2 will cost around $350

but will offer alot more features...

Montoya2941d ago

One of those feature needs to be 2 analog sticks IMO.

NYC_Gamer2941d ago

thats reason i rarely game on psp...because the lack of two analogs...

Close_Second2941d ago one thinks you need a second analog on the DS. The 3DS looks like it could be a FPS/TPS handheld beast and yet it only has one analog!

Would have thought with all the moaning over the years with the PSP only having a single analog that Nintendo would have put 2 on the 3DS.

Nitrowolf22941d ago (Edited 2941d ago )

pretty much the stylus will act as that second analog
that is wat people don't realize, in most FPS games for DS it was used to aim and even move (in COD you can move with dpad and aim with stylus)

i forgot you have to be steady for 3D to work. You can always turn that option off but still your right that wouldn't work that well. I guess we will have to see how RE plays.

Trroy2941d ago (Edited 2941d ago )

You suppose it'll be easy to hold a stylus with one hand, the analog with the other, while holding the unit steady for the 3D effect?

With two analogs, you at least get to support the unit with both hands as well. One analog + stylus... no. On top of that, you'd have to replace shoulder button usage with stylus taps, or somesuch, further aggravating the device, when it comes to 3D.

Red_Orange_Juice2941d ago

WTF? the info about psp2 dev kits was just leaked, 3ds was announced in June, PSP2 is not announced yet, slow down

gamerben2941d ago

One of those features will need to be a BETTER analog stick IMO

If Sony learned anything this gen is that setting their products at a high price is not a good idea to start for example the PSP Go.

I'm sure PSP2 will have a right price tag. And with IPad, 3DS taking the scene, I really wonder what Sony will bring with PSP2 besides the rumor of combining it with the Sony Ericsson and it's phone capabilities. Looking for a second analog, Sony!

despair2941d ago

nah it won't ever be more expensive than the PS3, my guess is same price as pspGo with alot more features and power. Sony will take a loss on each unit but with better protection against pirates they will make up for it with game sales, like the PS3.

dosgrtr2941d ago (Edited 2941d ago )

well, i think psp2 will cost somewhere between 250 and 300 bucks because sony wouldn't have a touch screen,2 camera and various other things which i don't need in the 3ds so they will save some money there and put most of it in better specs(cpu, gpu, battery life etc.)

OpenGL2941d ago

Nintendo could have fit a better CPU / GPU combo in the 3DS while still selling the hardware for a hefty profit.

If sony integrates the droid os and enables cell phone functionality then they should gain a carrier partnership with verizon for example and allow customers to get one with a contract.. Look at the iphone, who in their right mind would pay 400 bucks for an iphone on its own? They sold 80 million iphones because people get them for 100 bucks with a signed contract.. If sony pushed this model then I seriously think the psp2 could surpass the 3ds easily... This is a strategic decision that would benefit sony.. Having a carrier would gurantee sales of the units and then once they are in customers hands the sales of sony's minis would skyrocket as well as traditional retail purchases.... I'm saying it now, if this was to become a reality I will ditch my at&t contract and iphone immediately....

raztad2941d ago

This is a poor excuse for an article. Go and ask Sony NowGamer.

fastrez2941d ago (Edited 2941d ago )

You're wrong.

'Hey Bioware, please tell me everything about mass effect 3 now, spoilers, achievements, the plot. Don't worry, I won't tell anyone...promise'

Is this how you think the industry works? Haven't you learned now that devs thrive on smoke and mirrors to build hype.

I can't vouch for these guys but be reasonable, assuming a website like Nowgamer or even IGN can just ask something like that when even Sony probably don't know all the answers (it's rumoured to be at prototype stage only) is just nuts...

hoops2941d ago

If the PSP2 costs anywhere near $350 it will fail hard and fast.

JLeVRT2941d ago (Edited 2941d ago )

It's for kids.

It's for kids and nostalgic adults wanting to play ANOTHER FUCKING MARIO GAME...
*clears throat*
Sorry bout that Ninty fanboys. Im just sayin... Did you hear the song they were playin in that 3DS game promo that was released today? Kiddy crap!

Now Sony is cool, but needs to get their arses in check with their pricing. Anything higher than $300... And we go back into a fkkin recession. Am i right?

browngamer42941d ago

Based on what facts again?

fastrez2941d ago

I'd rather play games like Killzone, Resistance, God of War over retreads of Zelda and Mario again...I've been doing that for the past 15 years already. Innovation please Sony!

KratosGirI2941d ago

If the PSP2 is gonna have a great library of games like the 3DS, I'm definitely picking it up!

Samus HD2941d ago

it will have a great third party games
but 3DS has nintendoo so I think ........ 3DS

gamerben2941d ago

how do you know...

You can read the future?! Tell me about the future! Are the donuts good?!

Samus HD2940d ago

yeap they are
BTW look nintendo games, on Wii fow example:
Nintendo games are what is keeping Wii alive ( I own Wii inly because of nintendo Games )

Rampaged Death2941d ago

The PSP2 is in a corner crying it's eyes out !

dosgrtr2941d ago (Edited 2941d ago )

most of the 3rd party games on the 3ds will come to psp2,there will be first party exclusives as well obviously and then some more ,so psp2 is bound to have a killer launch lineup and with a fall 2011 release psp2 will definitely give 3ds some stiff competition in terms of sales
