Midlife Gamer's Xero explains why this action puzzler is this year's best game you probably won't play.
Pang is a fun game in its own right and if you have not managed to play it before then it is worth an hour of your time, but you’ll find yourself wanting something that little more engrossing. More of a three day old 21st balloon that an air balloon, it’s a classic formula which just misses out due to a lack of imagination.
"For some unknown reason the team behind the franchise, Mitchell Corporation, seem incapable of sticking to one particular name and so, over the years, audiences have enjoyed the distinctive balloon popping madness under a host of different titles. There’s been Pomping World, Buster Bros. Collection, Mighty Pang and Buster Buddies; just working out which games are in the series is almost as tough as completing the fiendishly tough levels within them."
Pang was a game originally released in the late 80’s, with addictive gameplay and some great level designs – Pang proved to be one of the great arcade titles of yesteryear. Now years after the original version, Pang has returned to the DS thanks to Rising Star Games. Does the new version carry on the tradition of the original – or was it best left as a distant but fond memory?
can't beleieve the score is that high. for a DS game that's just a remake of an old classic?! strange.
