Destructoid Review: Professor Layton and the Unwound Future

Destructoid writes: "Professor Layton and his apprentice Luke have returned for their third DS game, and as those who have played the previous games probably expected, it's really good. Professor Layton and the Unwound Future takes the formula that's worked so well for the past two games, and pretty much leaves it untouched. Aside from a few new minigames, the new Super Hint option, and (obviously) the story, nothing has really changed from any of the previous Layton games".

I'm just going to say straight away that without reading the review, I think that 9 is too high.

I have yet to complete the game so the ending may surprise me, but if my suspicion with Dan Paolo and Dr. Stahngun is correct then I'll be majorly disappointed.

I think with this game Level-5 have taken it too story driven; loads and loads of text and talking. Sure, there might be more puzzles than ever (don't quote me on that!) but it sure doesn't feel like it now.

I'm disappointed with it; there is a real lack of imagination and proper explanations in some of the puzzles that just weren't there with the first Layton.

Worst Cliffhangers in Gaming

Ryan Johnson | GoozerNation

Some cliffhangers are good. They entice you for the next game in the series. Then, there's the bad ones. Ones you never see resolution to. Ones that are ignored in the next game in the series. Worst, ones that are forced on you when you didn't expect one, even years after you felt "done" with the game. What are yours? Did they make the list?

You can add pop08,it was a great game but it had a cliffhanger, and dlc with another cliffhanger

Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow had a huge cliffhanger ending, and then Sony completely abandoned the series.

1.Half Life 2 Episode 2.
2.Prince Of Persia (2008) after dlc ending.
3.Batman Arkham City. The identity thief case wasn't finished and so what the mystery assassin. Forget his name at the moment.

Man, forgot about those side quests. Hush alone makes it aggravating that the next one is a prequel!

FreshRevenge3903d ago

yeah I know they had the Harley Quinn dlc. I was disappointed they left those stories open.

Half Life 2 Episode 2 was the BEST cliffhanger ending of any video game ever, not worst.
