Bruno Patatas made today one of the most enthusiastic presentations on Video Games 2010 in Lisbon. Replika's producer showed some artwork of the game and gave very good information.
The IP has always been, since the beginnings of its creation, seen as a product that could easily be multidisciplinary. A comic book will be out very soon and a movie, thar will be shooting next year by Pearry Reginald Teo (Necromentia and The Gene Generation).
The last scene of the film will be the first scene of the game.
GOS: "Biodroid Productions recently revealed a new site for their PS3 exclusive called Replika.
Replika is a hybrid of an action/strategy game with a cyberpunk setting, which features puzzle solving, world exploration, stealth based combat, and a dense storyline. You play as Replika, a cyborg who is starting to question her existence as she helps rebels battle the tyranny of the Volgan Empire."
Getting a Battle Angel Alita vibe from the art and concept, and that is a great thing.
I think they should call it something unique and as original as the concept maybe something like oh I dont know.... bladerunner?
DualShockers: As we promised yesterday, we now have for you the world premiere trailer for Replika, the new action/strategy title from Biodroid, which will be coming exclusively to the PlayStation Network. Up until this point, we haven’t heard a whole lot about it, but we do know that it will feature stereoscopic 3D. I’m personally a huge fan of the “cyberpunk” aesthetic the game has going on, so I’m quite looking forward to getting a glimpse of it. If you are too, hit the jump to feast your eyes on the trailer, and let us know what you think!
"That’s right, you read that headline correctly. Tomorrow we will be playing host to the world premiere trailer for PSN exclusive title Replika. Besides the fact that it has full support of stereoscopic 3D, pretty much nothing to very little is known about the upcoming “action/strategy cyberpunk adventure game” but hopefully tomorrow we will be able to clear some of the air on that. You won’t find it on Gametrailers, Gamespot, or even IGN. If you want to be among the first to see what Replika is all about, keep your browser locked on DualShockers.com on Tuesday February 7th."
“action/strategy cyberpunk adventure game” ? That's quite a mouth-full, but sounds interesting enough. Like you said though, practically nothing is known about this so I guess we'll find out tomorrow!
It seemed interesting to me back when I first heard about it, so I'm anxious to see the trailer.
Let's see if this thing delivers. I hope 3D wasn't the whole thing behind it and the game has actual substance.
