The PSOne, the redesigned model, was the first console that I actually bought for myself. I was in 6th grade and I got Chrono Cross with it. Man, those were the days.

Too bad I lent my game out and I haven't gotten it back since. They should release it on the PSN as a PS1 Classic.

Wait...why HAVEN'T they done that yet? We have all the Final Fantasys of the 32-bit era. Why NOT?

the first console I ever bought with my own money was the NES, however when the PS1 was announced, I was very excited. Me and a friend of mine split on it with Disc World and Ultimate mortal kombat a controller and a memory card. Came to well over 700$ I still remember being amazed that I could swap Ridge racer with a music disc after the track loaded and put the prodigy experience as I played an arcade perfect ridge racer.

Finally got my own PS1 when Gran turismo 1 launched and have bought ever Playstation console since, it is an amazing product that helped usher in our beloved industry to the mainstream and I am very happy that 15 years later, it is still apart of it.

grats on 15 years playstation, and here is hoping to 15 more!

PS, I never lent out my Chrono Cross Taggart, still have it mint ;P

Look how far we've come! Man, I remember when I got the original PlayStation for my birthday when I was younger, popping in my first game for it... Crash Bandicoot: WARPED. Ah, good times... good times. I remember my demo disc included things like the first Gran Turismo, Metal Gear Solid and Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver. Man, I miss those demo discs, they even had trialers for the original PlayStation Underground and PlayStation brand clothing, which is still near-impossible to find! =)

SCEA launches EyeToy, a USB camera that features unique motion-tracking technology to enable gamers to become physically part of the game."

Haha of course they included this, but they should also add "This would later be imitated by the competition seven years later."
