IGN: Mafia II: Jimmy's Vendetta Review

You’re getting a lot of stuff to do for $10 here – along with three difficulties and leaderboards -- so fans of Mafia II’s gameplay and world really shouldn’t have a concern about jumping into Mafia II: Jimmy’s Vendetta. Still, the issues that plagued the disc-based game are here. You’re doing the same stuff over and over, the animations are stiff, and the enemies you’re up against aren’t going to really test your skills.

If you need more stuff to do in Empire City, Mafia II: Jimmy’s Vendetta serves its purpose, but it’s nothing amazing.

The story is too old to be commented.

For an open world game this was really short.
This should have been included from the get go.
Sounds fun though.

And it is not really all that much fun.

Theres a beginning cut scene and an ending cut scene..... (thats it)
All of the missions are explained to you via simple text......
33% of the missions are a JOKE (drive to point B, collect car, take newly retained car to point A)
33% are blow up object A, B or C. (Again, rather boring)
& the final 33% are shooting missions (some of which are pretty good)

I gave Mafia II around 80%, but Jimmys Vendetta? 50% tops. Not worth £6.80/$10

That's good to know. I'll not be buying this.

It was kinda boring.

At least Mafia 2 there was a story to follow.

Shame that it's an open world game with absolutely no open world things to do.

The pros of the game was definitely the responsive shooting mechanics and free roaming ability, unlike GTA4's animation-priority laggy gameplay and sloppy car controls.

I think if GTA4 had the same controls as Mafia 2 combined with all the silly things you can do in GTA, it would have been a great game.

DLC this close to release date? Wtf? There is no reason why this shouldn't have already been included with the game...
