Final Fantasy Producer Yoshinori Kitase took center stage at this year's Xbox 360 Media Briefing in Japan to discuss details on the Xbox 360 version of Final Fantasy XIII, including pricing, extra content, as well as marketing for the title.
This better be DLC for the rest
The extra content are just deleted scenes and a post game quest called Final Fantasy XIII Episode i. I hope Square Enix releases this as DLC for free and not as a re-release international edition with the extra stuff/ Subs and Dubs. The Extra Content should come to PS3 or else they're just alienating the millions of people that bought FFXIII for PS3. @Natsu I Really think that extra content on Mass Effect 2 is really just a big summary/ introduction of what happens in Mass Effect 1, Something to make up for PS3 owners who don't have the chance to build their own character and experience Mass Effect 1. So I don't see why Xbox360 owners would want that when they already have Mass Effect 1.
what about People getting Bonus content on MASS EFFECT 2 on PS3? I dint see ya ass around saying they should come to Xbox360. gtfo
Eh... the bonus content on ME2 is ME1 backstory and the already released DLC.... unless you want backstory instead of ME1... what?
The ME2 stuff isn't one region only or to make up for not playing ME1. Besides, Square promised multiple times they would do something like this, now Western 360 and PS3 owner both are going to get shut out. Unless they offer it as paid DLC.
You're the ONLY one that likes this announcement and/or thinks that anything good will come from this. Gotta wonder what you see that's so good or will be beneficial for any party involved in this, because neither me or anyone else commenting (even some 360 fanboys here are not exactly seeing how this will help either MS or SE) can see anything good that could come from this. Not that I could care less if the game is released on the 360 in Japan at this point or not. Sony got all they could probably get in Japan from getting the game first, and this would be the normal time timed exclusivity usually runs out, as we saw the GTA PS2 games reach the first XBox at around the same amount of time. But I don't get the logic of how this could get them any money seeing as how unpopular the 360 is over there.
Probably minor additions at best. Square doesn't have the manpower to do substantial content additions. Their production pipeline is in the shitter after all.
1up.com confirms the extras as essentially a booklet that talks about deleted scenes and a novella that details post game events. So this really is the US version with Japanese subtitles... Tricky, tricky Square. http://www.1up.com/news/fin...
Its gonna sell quite substantial in japan
to the less than a millions person with a 360, sure, maybe 250k....
is still too much. Try something in the vicinity of 4 or 5 figures if MS is lucky.
i don't think its even going to sell one... since all the 360 Japanese owners also have a ps3... lulz
thats all i have to say hmmmmmm
What a fucking joke. Content is trimmed down to fit multiple discs for the 360, and lo and behold the platform it sold less on gets extra content.
micro just keeps throwing money their way.
Stop this nonsense trolling PS3 FAN BOYS.When Final Fantasy VII was out why didn't you blame Squaresoft for releasing it in 3 disks?Because you're just fanboys right? What can't you get that once a game is finished it can't be altered for 1000 reasons. The game has been ready way before development started on the 360.Can't you just accept that Squere Enix sucks ass this days and that you better expect something like Persona 5 and not any new Final Fantasy shit.
Back then was only CD that is available. BUT now Blu Ray.
are you doing this on purpose a rpg on 3 cds in 1997 and a rpg on 3 dvds when blu ray exist in 2010 shouldn't even be compared
Smells like DLC for the rest of us. But I really doubt that there will be dual audio. If Square had that much space left on the disc, the video wouldn't have been that badly compressed. Also, the fact that "My Hands" is the theme means that this is probably a repurposed US 360 version with added subtitles and some post game content (especially since it is on three discs).
I'm sure 5 people will buy this.
Sow now it's gonna be on 4 disc?
Still only three discs which makes me suspect that this will be the US version in disguise.
I have no idea why Square Enix or Microsoft would do this. Did MS paid for this release? Could have used that funds to make new games assuming there was a business deal. Anyone who wanted FFXIII would have gotten it by now for PS3 in Japan. Besides, everyone is disillusion at how bad and lacking FFXIII is compared to its legendary predecessors. No towns, very linear, and whack battle system. Paradigm shifts....
"The game has already been confirmed to have English and Japanese voices and subtitles" W. T. F. This was the only thing I wanted with the game get shafted. Now they are giving it away =_=
*Sigh* Square Enix. All those ads for FFXIII Ps3, note, this was recent in 2010. With the ONLY ON PS3 Ads in Japan. I wouldnt be surprised if Versus too was timed-exclusive. Speaking of which, why cant companies just say timed exclusive.
This will make MS and SE A LOT of money in japan! /s
What? And no PS3 version to import? Go fuck yourself Square! You told us that we didn't get jap voice over cus of space limitation and now...? Bunch of fucking liars!
The andriasang blog credited as the source didn't say that there would be JP voices. This site assumed that. I believe there will only be one set of voices as it is still three discs.
For Gods sake forget this game it sucked ass.Play something like Persona 4 on PS2 and stop crying about a game that sucked way before the 360 version came out.
Boo Friggin Hoo It was more than likely part of the original deal that took FF13 to the xbox anyway. Plus the game is shit to boot so whats the problem?
this is usual for jap they get a regular edition then an international edition featuring uncut fmv stuff that we already have and some extras we never get the only surprising thing is if its not also on ps3 (its a xbox conference so wouldnt say also on ps3)
Ok..... so they give Japan duo audio on ""360"", (of all consoles), but don't give dual audio to NA?!?? I don't even know where to begin trying to understand nor I'm I going to even try...
they have no loyalty in one company. they have lied constantly this gen. they no longer produce the best products they can make. they no longer support the fans that made them great in the ps1/ps2 era. when they merged with Enix and took on Enix's mindset,it was over.never mind losing some great people like Rare did.the new Square does not care.which reminds me of Enix. Enix did not care about pushing graphics or taking dragonquest into the 3D era.it took another company to do that for them with Level 5.they made great games, but never pushed their developers hard.taking an Enix figurehead after the merger meant sony was not their biggest priority.it's "who can make us the most money."especially after Square almost killing the company over making that poor final fantasy film(1st). and what kind of comments did Square put out before ps3 even released?they put out this: http://www.google.com/url?s... when Square made this comment BEFORE ps3 came out,i knew that they were not the same company anymore. "We don't want the PlayStation 3 to be the overwhelming loser, so we want to support them. But we don't want them to be the overwhelming winner either, so we can't support them too much." this told me that Square does not want sony to win like last gen(ps2)or the gen before that(ps1).they want everything to be even.even if ps3 has better graphics.had the largest fanbase last gen, they are willing to shun all of it in favor of money.in which microsoft has a WHOLE LOT OF IT. it's why i don't give a f#ck about Square games this gen.they are not the same.just like Capcom and Namco.they are not pushing themselves, milk their licenses and have made nothing i would want this gen.even the game i did buy from capcom(2D bionic commando re-armed),wasn't even made by them.it was GRIN.but Grin got canned after the 3D BC. gamers would do themselves a favor in just supporting ps3 first party MOSTLY.and push and ask them to make an awesome rpg.they've listened on other things so far.they could listen again and give us a real rpg....well...and a 3D horror, zombie game.
Enix is actually the quality side. Dragonquest 9 did NOT suck at all. Square already lied....'evenly' bullshit. FF XIII is on 360.....
the dev was LEVEL 5 not Enix DQ is outsourced
What a fucking joke. Content is trimmed down to fit multiple discs for the 360, and lo and behold the platform it sold less on gets extra content. i have not satisfication about you.. http://naturaldetoxcleanse....
Nothing has bee trimmed down get it?They could use as many disks as they wanted and nobody would complain because they have DONE IT AGAIN COUNTLESS TIMES ON THE PS1 ERA.GET ITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT.
Maybe it is a better game now, or maybe the extra areas and content are a real RPG now ? Funny that 360 that has no blu ray gets all the best of extra content !!! Also FF13vs is a sure deal coming to 360 now
Define "all" please. As in "Funny that 360 that has no blu ray gets all the best of extra content !!!" UT3 mods, RE5 move, RDR outlaws, Mafia II DLC, MoH frontline, Dead Space extraction... I don't see 360 getting all extra content... In fact it's not even taking most of it! Even worse you try to point that with FFXIII content that is already available in western version for BOTH consoles. This content is/was missing japanese PS3 version because it came out earlier, not because it was intended to be extra content.
Yet just like a beaten woman, this board will run right out to buy their next game hoping that it'll be good. Put your $ where your mouth is and stop rewarding this shit. Maybe they'll get the hint.
Adding more content doesn't make the turd of a game any better. Now it will be a turd with more content.
SERIOUSLY This BETTER be DLC for us!
this is just a tactic to sell 360 copies right?
