Gearbox Annouces: " We Own Duke Nukem"

In a stunning PAX 2010 Announcement Gearbox has announced that they own Duke Nukem. Huge news considering the finally completed and low awaited Duke Nukem Forever is finally poised for a release.

Nah. . they might have bought the rights, But the fans own Duke. Without the constant internet rumors and the hopes we all kept alive, DNF would have never seen the light of day.

It could have fallen into way worse hands than Gearbox. I'm not too keen on Brothers In Arms (I did play Hell's Highway for the easy achievements) but I love Borderlands.

I just hope it is good. I am not expecting a mind blowing fantastic game. But I do want it to be true to the Duke and decent enough I won't get buyers remorse.

Just like when Naughty Dog got rid of Crash Bandicoot and Insomniac got rid of Spyro. Both of those franchises kept the quality that had even after leaving Naughty Dog & Insomniac.

Sorry, but the only reason this game will sell is because of nostalgia. Once that wears off you'll see how bad it really is. If you take away the Duke Nukem theme then you're left with a generic shooter and Gearbox is doing nothing but ruining this franchise.

-Regenerating Health
-Only being able to carry 2 weapons
-Sprint button replacing auto run
-Melee with guns rather than your boot
-Enemy spawn scripted events (ex: You can run a bit further into the level and see no enemies because the game doesn't tell you that you need to hop on a turret to spawn a turret sequence).

If anything, PC gamers will have to create mods in order to fix what Gearbox screwed up.

Dude just chill out. People need to stop passing judgement on games waaayyyy before they are released. You saw a couple of off-screen videos and screenshots and you're already writing it off. You should give thanks to these guys for trying to finish what 3d realms couldn't. I mean can we atleast wait for the first review.

Health regen dont mean shit in a game that isnt realistic/hardcore. Health packs wont ruin Duke like it would a Socom game where health is alot less plentiful.

Health packs are old school, why have them at all? Its a old dried up seed that shouldnt be used very much if at all.

Duke (Crazy over the top) = no health packs
Dont see how you can act like its a big deal...seriously.
