MIG: Should You Buy a Wii?

If you don’t own another next generation console, you may want to investigate purchasing a Wii. Though it lacks the same power as the other two major consoles, that doesn’t mean it’s necessarily lacking in content. Not only do you have the standard, powerful Nintendo properties – Mario, Metroid and the Legend of Zelda — there are many quality third party games as well. Not to mention, with a console that produces lower power, it ends up costing less. That $199 price tag is always a pleasant sight for sore eyes, especially when you consider that it comes bundled with both Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort, which are two titles that greatly show the power of the console’s motion controls.

Cool story bro, but that game is also on the Gamecube, so point invalid.

Yeah, but only without the motion controls which greatly enhance the game experience... of course, you don't know wht i'm talking about because ur too busy playing Killzone.

Also, the Gamecube isn't available for 3+ years and all its games are out of print... again, you don't know wht I'm saying because ur a ninty-hater.

The Gamecube version is infinitely superior. Try again. The Wii version is still worth buying though. And hey you can try and find the Gamecube version and play that on the Wii too.

Yep, besides at this point I'd even go as far as saying that the Wii actually has more core games than the 360. I don't know why the Wii get's so much hate. Yea, it's not a graphics beast or anything, but Nintendo never intended it to be. That's why it's so cheap. IMO, it's a very good console.

$199 gets you a Wii with a Wiimote, Nunchuck, Motion+ and the 2 Wii Sports games.

Plus, you've got some really good games available at the moment:

Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2.
Zelda: Twilight Princess.
Mario Kart Wii.
Metroid Prime Trilogy.
Metroid: Other M.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
No More Heroes 1 and 2.
Monster Hunter Tri.
Sin and Punishment 2.
New Super Mario Bros. Wii.
Super Paper Mario.
Tatsunoko VS Capcom.

And coming soon:

Zelda: Skyward Sword.
Kirby's Epic Yarn.
Epic Mickey.
Donkey Kong Country Returns.

Plus, backwards compatibility with GameCube and including the Virtual Console and WiiWare titles, you can't go wrong!

i expect the good wii games from 3rd party devs come to the PS Move

Seferoth752970d ago

Most good 3rd party games have no reason to not be on PS3 now. Well except they would bomb like a good portion of games on PS3 have done. Anyway most do not use motion controls so no reason they couldnt already be on PS3. You know if you guys actually bought games and not just hype them all as the second coming then you'd have them.

Theonik2970d ago (Edited 2970d ago )

So good 3rd party games on the Wii do well eh?

Doc Sony2970d ago

Nah man, f*ck that noise, its all about the Move now.
