I'm not in any way condoning this trend...but I'm not surprised it's being done.

Used game sales hurt the industry and developers, so i guess this is a way for them to strike back.

What sucks is that this is a brand new trend, after they see how well it works with this game, then future titles will do the same, just like when DLC first came out. Someone tested the waters ... water was fine, everyone else jumps in.

I agree with the developer's mentality that every one of THEIR titles purchased from anywhere and sitting in someone's home should bring them at least a dollar or two in revenue. The problem with used game sales is that they dont receive ANY royalties whatsoever.

To charge 10$ for online play may be a bit much, but this is just the first step in the battle between used games and developers.

@ Trebius
So, we cant pirate, emulate, nor buy used games......
It all hurts the industry......

I say, sucks for them.

Good comparison, they've got worse with age.

Many of the old animations look better than the new ones especially the Sweet Chin Music and Goldberg's spear. The 2K14 Clothesline from Hell looks awesome though.

10 Video Games That Nobody Bothers To 100%

"In the age of achievements and trophies, many games encourage you to aim for that 100%, no matter how difficult it may be. Reaching 100% is considered to be, funnily enough, an achievement. You need more encouragement than that. Gamers need to be given a reason to keep on playing past the end of the story, or in some cases, play the entire game again. Some just don’t deliver on that front."
