We hear from developers every other day that their new title will be the same on both consoles, they rarely do. There is usually small to huge differences, be it visual or in the actual running of the game. It is not every day you hear of a game using an entire new game engine, and the Rage developer revealed some interesting facts about using a brand new engine. He is confident that they can deliver titles running the same on all platforms.
"Quake II is a masterpiece; an enduring first-person shooter that shows iD Software at their technical and artistic best."

The story of John Romero, John Carmack, Adrian Carmack, Tom Hall, Jay Wilbur and their legendary company id Software. From Commander Keen to Wolfenstein 3D, from Doom to Quake, they invented the 3D first-person shooter genre, and they transformed PC gaming into a multi-million dollars business.
BLG writes, "Plug in your electric guitars and start shredding; we’re making a list of the DOOM games ranked.
Trying to decide the best DOOM game is like deciding who your favorite child is. You love every one of them, imperfections and all."
I'm sure it'll be impressive. Very impressive. And I hope it betters the hype machine that is Crysis 2, but I think only exclusive games will take full advantage of its consoles. So fingers crossed for games like Halo: Reached and The Last Guardian.
Of course fingers crossed for RAGE as well. It looks awesome.
imagine if they utilize the cell processor for the ps3 and take advantage of it, i would be awestruck, look at killzone 3's graphics, now imagine them utilizing the cell for ps3 for rage... imagine how amazing the graphics will be!
haven't we heard the same thing from many other multiplate devs and how it always turns out in the end?
Which is why when they say things that most lie when saying, I believe them. You can tell just how much effort is being put in to a game when they even produce a 60 Fps version for the iPhone...
Wouldn't that be a matter of course?
Everytime I hear a developer stating something like this it gives me the feeling that they've stumbled upon issues and are trying to cover up flaws.
I have no doubt (at all) in id's competence as a developer though. If anyone can pull off multiplatform magic on consoles it would be them.
