Pocket Gamer: Africa isn't the first destination to consider when planning a deer hunting excursion, though outwitting wildlife is no different on one continent from the next.
Touch Reviews: First there was Deer Hunter, then Deer Hunter for iPad, then Deer Hunter: African Safari and now Deer Hunter: African Safari for iPad. They do say if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it and that certainly appears to be the case with Glu’s popular hunting series.
STP: Deer Hunter: African Safari feels like an expansion pack rather than a full-fledged sequel. Your mileage may vary.

Deer may never come into your crosshairs, but the thrill of the hunt is just the same in the wilds of Africa - if not heightened when facing lumbering elephants and flighty zebras.
Deer Hunter: African Safari could do with a more appropriate title (Gazelle Hunter, perhaps?), though the gameplay sticks to the wildlife shooting gallery formula that made its namesake predecessor enjoyable.
