"What Are You Doing, During This Dry A** Period Of Gaming?"

Smoking the herb, catching up on some old games i missed (bioshock, infamous, heavenly sword), putting together a zombie defense force, trying to convince my mom that better MMO's than WoW exist.

njr5024d ago

Play some games that you can't get bored of, like Team Fortress 2 (PC)

captain-obvious5024d ago

"Dry A** Period Of Gaming?"

indeed
a very Dry Period Of Gaming

raztad5024d ago

I'm actually very far behind schedule so I got a lot of old games to play in 3 different platforms: PS3, PSP and finally PC. A lot of catch up to do, so there is not dry period for me. The best thing: old games are in most cases bargain bin. Love gaming for the cheap.

Nihilism5024d ago

You should look into Torchlight on PC, it costs $20 and lasts for hours and hours, and comes with an editor if you're into making levels etc, or you can just enjoy the mods other make.

It plays like Diablo 2

SilentNegotiator5024d ago

Playing older games, emu'ing it up, and catching up on a few titles.

raztad5024d ago

@dchalfot

OK. I'll give it a try. Thanks. I kinda regret not buying it in a Steam sale for $5 or so.

scofios5024d ago (Edited 5024d ago )

@raztad
Same here a lot of games to catch up , on differnt platforms , wii , psp , ps3 , 360 , and even on the good old ps2 , and like you in most cases games from the bargain bin .

DORMIN5024d ago

WTF?

Starcraft 2 came out last month
Mafia 2, Shank came out yesterday.
Metroid: M, Valkyria Chronicles 2 next week.
Birth By Sleep, Spiderman: SD week after.

Whomever wrote this better stop sitting and waiting for your mehFPSs and start playing some freaking game.

BulletToothtony5024d ago

playing starcraft 2 and some old revisiting some old games like Valkyria Chronicles and buying old games like the force unleashed for like $10

nice I'm doing the same thing of course I wanted to start on Bioshock and Gamestop gave me Bioshock 2 by accident so I still need to go out and buy Bioshock before I play the second one...I hear the first one is better

DasBunker5024d ago (Edited 5024d ago )

i gotta ctach up on a lot of games like

bioshock1/2
NGS2
bayonetta
dantes inferno

and others that are probably good but never played... looking fordward to castlevania LOS and LBP2 the most

oh and im beating FFVII for the first time... im 30+ hours into it but finishing it has been postponed.. now i see why many people like it..

scofios5024d ago

There are still a alot of game you can cacth up you diden't bought on releas , i recently finished , bioschock 2 and bayonetta , now playing just caus 2 , i had a lot of fun with first one , and after that i will continue alan wake .

PS3Freak5024d ago

After seeing The Bioshock Infinite trailer, it seems like everyone who didn't play Bioshock, is going to now. Myself included.

Anon19745024d ago (Edited 5024d ago )

Right now on my list I'm playing through Borderlands, Heavy Rain, Dragon Age: Awakening and just started Brutal Legend. After that I haven't even touched Red Dead Redemption, God of War 3, Assassin's Creed 2 and Bioshock 2. And I still haven't had a chance to take a crack at all 3 Fallout 3 expansions I downloaded last Christmas thinking I was going to have all the time in the world.

So many games, so little time...

And somewhere in there I've got to fit in my second play-thru of Demon's Souls. That game was incredible. One of the reasons all those other titles had taken a back seat.

your mom plays WoW? ... pppfffttttt nice

ZombieAutopsy5024d ago

Yes she started a few weeks before i came into town and if she isn't sleeping she is playing it.

mike90775024d ago

@dasbunker bayonetta is only 20 buks at best buy check it out

Nihilism5024d ago

This is a gaming drought. I'm playing Torchlight and Heroes of Might and Magic 5, seriously, not in the mood for shooters or another tedious RPG just now.

I played both Bioshock's back to back when I was bored a few weeks ago.

Hurry up Q1, I'm over 2010.

evrfighter5024d ago

been runnin 4's in sc2. havn't played an fps in awhile now.

Doing real life stuff (drivers license, getting ready for school...Fun.....) ~_~
Watching Anime.
Posting comments on N4G.

Well, I have killed/cleaned/dressed over 120 chickens this week alone. No joke. Wish I was joking, but I'm not. Never borrow money from your father. You'll end up doing shit you never wanted to do. Trust me.

Even after you pay it back in full they will still remind you that "I helped you out when you needed it"...

Going outside. Novel concept, I know.

-Alpha5024d ago (Edited 5024d ago )

I heard a lot of things about "Outside". Is it true the graphics are better "Outside"?

Anyways I'm working my ass off to pay for school and the onslaught of games for the Summer. You ought to always prefer for the storm when you are in the calm of it.

ZombieAutopsy5024d ago

" Is it true the graphics are better "Outside"? "

Yea the graphics are better but the gameplay SUCKS

Spinal5024d ago

dey graffphix outside betta??!

wot is dis 'outside' you speak of sir...

UltimateIdiot9115024d ago (Edited 5024d ago )

If you think that's novel wait until you hear my revolutionary idea.

Work (GT5 Collector's Edition isn't paying itself nor my tuition) and spending more time with a significant other and friends.

That's how I spend my dry gaming period.

SHOGUN 36o5025d ago

Trying to get all the achievements in Just Cause 2 before it gets traded in.

BannedForNineYears5024d ago

What a great way to spend life, man.
~_~
Is that really what you want to be doing? Honestly?
Doing something that won't hold any value to you in the long run.

Play games, not achievements! >:[

SHOGUN 36o5023d ago

Fool I have had a better life and continue to than most people on this website. So let me get this straight... if I play the game just for the hell of it my life is freaking great. But, if I play the game and pursue achievements... my life has no value. What are you 10. Games are for entertainment... that sheep skin on the wall was for life. That money in my account is the by-product of said sheep skin. That car outside is the result of spending said money. That is my life little kid. Yours apparently is video gaming which means mommy and daddy take care of you.

The way I play video games represents my life LOL! What a damn joke.

Basil-Rathboner5024d ago

I am exercising my forearm muscles for the autumn/winter onslaught of games by browsing porn.
I now have arms like popeye but on the upside kinect looks really good but i thinks thats more down to the fact that i think i have made myself go blind.

DasBunker5024d ago (Edited 5024d ago )

try a handgripper and dumbbells wrist curls, look them up.. this will give you some bad@$$ forearm veins

I lost my drive for collecting physical games due to many discs lacking the whole complete game. Instead, of collecting games I started collected figurines.

Popsicle21h ago

I am a collector have a room dedicated with a couple original arcade cabinets, physical game library, old and new consoles and controllers backlit with LED lighting. It’s very cool to have but with emulation being so strong and prevalent, I sometimes feel foolish because the hobby is expensive and like another said, the full game is not always on the disc. Could probably spend more wisely but I enjoy it.

shinoff21836h ago

Most games are usually on disc still. Of course you got you publishers that are hit and miss, Activision, ubisoft, ea, Microsoft, where the rest of the game needs downloaded.

Thought I was the only one who remembered Trinity lol very underrated

Yui_Suzumiya1d 7h ago

WET and Quantum Theory were both phenomenal

P_Bomb1d 4h ago

I remember Stranglehold! One of the first DLC packs of its time. A bit expensive, but cheap by today’s standards.

Chocoburger1d 4h ago

Another PS3 hidden gems list, and yet again Time Crisis 4 and Time Crisis Razin' Storm get snubbed. Such fun games, that shouldn't be forgotten. If only we got a home port of Time Crisis 5: Mastermind Edition.

-Foxtrot19h ago

WET is something I wish they'd remake, they had so many great ideas but not all of them were executed properly

It had a lot of potential

Also Wanted Weapons of Fate is another game that had some new fun gameplay ideas.
