GamesRadar: Mafia II Review

While its story and action are fantastic, Mafia II is an open-world game with an “open world” that never becomes anything more than an elaborate backdrop for the story. It’s a lot of fun while it lasts, but don’t expect to be playing this months from now.

i really think the Chinese are going to hate this lets just say there's one level where its like genocide of Chinese

The story and the immersion are the main investments. It's not a city meant to be messed around in, it's more an "experience", you're supposed to just play through the story and be done with it. The story in the first Mafia was amazing, so I'm still looking forward to finishing this one.

the story is epic iam on the last chapter and sadly its only took 9 and half hours on medium difficulty I would give it like 9.0 my self pc/xbox 360 version. after seeing ps3 final build at mates shop I could not give that 9 read my comments I am major pc/ps3 fan boy but I am not going lie and ps3 version only deserve a 8.2 the graphics compared 360 version Is just like looking at different game I don't no what went wrong here. before i saw ps3 version I was like It would not ruin experience but I saw lag during the first mission and that was terrible.

Bioshock still looks fantastic, one of my all time favorites.

Beyond: Two Souls on PS3 can compete with modern day graphics.

SonyStyled602d ago (Edited 602d ago )

Same as Killzone 2 and 3, uncharted 2 and 3, Infamous 2, Heavy Rain, Resistance 3

jasonismoney602d ago

I wish this was entirely true, but you might want to load up Killzone 2 and Resistance 3 again.

SonyStyled602d ago

@jason I watched some gameplay videos of KZ2 and R3 on my full screen. They are on par or succeed graphically to the first person shooters mentioned in the article that also launched on the seventh generation of consoles. Try the same and see what you think

cthulhucultist602d ago

Killzone 3 was super impressive! I could not believe the graphics back then as I was regularly pausing the game to stand in awe looking at the surroundings! Resistance however did not impress me that much. Heavy rain is also another amazing graphically speaking game. It almost felt next gen

Fist4achin602d ago

I always thought the first 3 Gears of War games looked great and still hold up for today.

SonyStyled602d ago

They did for their day. I recently played gears judgement with on the 360 and the draw distance was so blurry. The characters up close look great though

JEECE602d ago

Far Cry 2 was awesome. In addition to having demonstrably better physics and AI than later games in the series, it had a lot of design decisions that, criticized at the time, have since been praised in games like BOTW and Dark Souls.

iNcRiMiNaTi602d ago

It might not be super amazing by today's standard but I thought Mgs3 looked really good

JEECE602d ago

In terms of art style it still holds up.
