Harry Potter Kinect Hands-On Preview: Accio Better Game!

Dealspwn's Jonathan Lester has a truly torrid time with the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows' Kinect challenge mode.

Lester writes: "One of the oddest moments of EA’s Press Conference was the unveiling of Harry Potter’s Kinect functionality. The Weasley twins stepped up on stage to cast some hands-free spells in the new challenge mode… and if it’s good enough for them, it had to be worth trying out for myself. Plus, my time with Sorcery’s tech demo had raised the bar fairly high and I was looking forward to comparing how the two motion control peripherals handle wand-based combat.

As it turns out, there’s a clear winner."

ugh, I face palmed so bad when I saw the live demo of harry potter it's not even funny. Kinect seriously fails yet again to get me interested in even thinking of buying it.

Harry Potter proves Kinect does not equal hardcore gaming. All you do is stand there and wave your arms, at least in this game.

People complained about FF13's linear game play, fuuuu, you can't even control the characters in this game at all(?) LOL. The game does it for you haha. I don't know what else to say ugh.

"Why isn't it working? Why can't I get it to cast spells?"
"Because you're a muggle and nobody loves yo- I mean we are currently in the beta stages for this feature"

Absolutely insane. Man I'm hope they land on their feet EA needs to get the shit together badly....

This is why this industry has slow releases and none compelling games.

Why would anyone willingly work in the VG industry or specifically for one of these globocorp organizations that put you in constant fear of losing your livelihood based on terrible choices made by idiotic management, not the people with talent making the actual games?
