New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo said six companies will pay $10.1 million of fines and restitution after hundreds of thousands of consumers were tricked into joining discount clubs that carried hidden fees.
say it aint so lol tho anyone whos sold them used games knows it already XD
No way! This can't be! (sarcasm)
You tell 'em Cuomo!! My vote for Gov!!
No more Dems. NY is an over taxed state and NYC is quickly reverting back to it's pre-Rudy s**t hole status.
What a dumbass comment. Both sides have problems. Dems tax more while Republicans just use a credit card and add to the debt. No wonder you got 1 bubble. And don't bring that political shit here. This is a video game forum dammit.
Cuomo's a great guy; good to see him defending consumers. We need someone like him over here in California...Jerry Brown has toned down his firebrand politics immensely since his Governor Moonbeam days. @DizzleK- We have a massive budget deficit. If we had kept taxes high during our economic growth periods throughout the 90s and 2000s, we probably wouldn't have a recession. Taxes are not evil.
Wasn't someone bitching at me for dissing gamestop a day or two ago? How do you feel now?
Who the hell buys or sells their games to Gamestop? Have to be an idiot.
I bought Super Street Fighter 4 off Amazon for 18 bux new cause i gt a special offer. I sold it back to Gamestop for 35 bux during their April fools week "extra money for trade ins" thg. So I actually GAINED money from selling back a game to Gamestop. Ur only an idiot when u sell games to Gamestop when their not having a sale or special deal going on. "Uncharted 2 has been $37 on Amazon.com for almost three months now... new, not used." Well, I gt it 2 months ago and from what I recall, Uncharted 2 was 50 bux new at Amazon at the time I bought it. I gt it at Gamestop for 40 bux used AND I bought ALL the DLC from Amazon with the $20 credit I gained from getting SSIV :)
Uncharted 2 has been $37 on Amazon.com for almost three months now... new, not used.
u forgot to include you paid for shipping.
@deadreckoning666 Super Street Fighter 4 has NEVER been $18 anywhere except your imagination. Why make up that story to make it look like youre a hussler to people you'll never meet?
I bought SFIV for $24....online with free shipping, and we pay twice what U.S pays for games here in AUS, so I think it is definitely true.
Stop acting like you know what you're talking about. If he says he got it for $18 from Amazon, I'd bet he did. I preordered SSFIV from amazon, and all I payed for it was $21 and got free shipping.
Gamestop - I hate that place.
@ RADDOG it was itching you to comment it dont matter if it was black friday
... it was a trade in special during their trade in week at the beginning of April. Please learn how to read, he said that in his post.
Nice edit. I'll reset the situation... You claimed that he bought the game from Amazon, and then RETURNED it to gamestop. That is not what he did. He TRADED the game in. They are two fundamentally different transactions. A return is an exchange for what you paid for the item, as long as it is in the same condition as when you purchased the game. This required a receipt from the store/chain that you bought the game from A trade-in is where you take a game that you have purchased and most likely played. After you have finished playing the game, you can take it to gamestop or other retailers to trade it in. This yields you either store credit or cash. Most times, you do not get what you paid for it, (in GSs case, most likely less than 50%) but sometimes when Gamestop has specials you can get a good deal. Just recently I traded in Mass Effect 1 and Super Paper Mario in a "special trade in offer" and received $40 off Red Dead Redemption. Separately, Mass Effect was trading for $3.15 and SPM was trading for $7.50 I don't understand your "it was itching you to comment" comment.
gamestop when will start being delicious like your predecessor Funcoland
How in the world do people comment only on Gamestop here, when there's like 6 other companies on that list also? Seriously is like the angst of N4G against GS here or did I miss a memo?
