Its unlikely they're using the PS3 engine.

Also, might be a bit random, but hope they make an ME space in Home.

blumatt4997d ago (Edited 4997d ago )

Yeah, they're probably not using the Cell at all, just the GPU to run this game, but nonetheless this game coming to the PS3 is a pretty big deal. It's about as big as Final Fantasy 13 going to the 360, except this game is probably better than FF 13.

AtatakaiSamurai4997d ago (Edited 4997d ago )

So wit ME, L4D, splinter cell all coming to the PS3 what the hell has ms actually got for their 360 fans? just sequels and prequels of halo?

I don't know why anyone would actualy go out and buy a 360 now that it's more obvious it only has a small handfull of true honest exclusives.

D4RkNIKON4997d ago

This is why Sony has so many 1st Party Devs. So this doesn't happen often (FF13 happened because it was 3rd party)

ryuzu4997d ago

Ok so this is the Unreal engine etc, but even so this is fast for what was a previous MS exclusive to find its way to PS3....

r.

kevnb4997d ago

none of those are exclusive, all best played on pc. Also, L4D and Splinter Cell conviction are announced for ps3?

Perjoss4997d ago

@ AtatakaiSamurai

I'm not a fanboy, and I love all my consoles but...

there is a long list of multi platform games that look / perform better on 360, also the online is better. There are also some great Arcade titles on the 360 that are not available on PS3.

I heard aaron greenberg is happy

Imperator4997d ago

A lot of 360 fans were comparing an ME announcement to the MGS4 rumors. LOL. Well, PS3 fans get ME2, yet MGS4 will never be on the 360.

R2D24997d ago (Edited 4997d ago )

Time have changed and money is on every ones mind.

On topic: ME2 is a great game and if the bonus that they provide for the PS3 is something new, I will be buying the PS3 version as well.

Game of the year for me, so far.

Fishy Fingers4997d ago

The PS3 engine? It uses Unreal Engine. It should perform perfectly well on the PS3 if it's handled correctly.

DJMarty4997d ago

Why is it unlikely they're using the PS3 engine.

Says coming Jan 2011, I'm guessing it will be far into developement by now.

Guys here is someone covering the Sony conference with a video.

raztad4997d ago

Probably the PS3 version is being developed for some time already. Anyone remember the hidden PS3 code? hopefully EA and BioWare are expereinced enough with UE3 and the PS3. Looking forward to see how it shapes.

kevnb4997d ago

Its a multiplatform engine, few small tweaks is all thats needed. And the ps3 code was right there in the pc version, not hidden.

PS3 Fanboys = :D >:D >:) >:P

Xbox 360 Fanboys = :l :( D: :/

BuIIetproofish_4997d ago

Suddenly the game isn't mediocre to PS3 fanboys and Xbox Fanboys can't stop crying.

Sony Fiend4997d ago (Edited 4997d ago )

I have no idea what you're talking about. Mass Effect was the only game PS3 fanboys envied on 360.

Its the only reason i bought a secondhand 360 (which I regret now) and its still the only 360 game I own VS. 40+ PS3 titles.

TotalPS3Fanboy4997d ago

What every PS3 fanboys was saying was that it's on the PC too.

raztad4997d ago (Edited 4997d ago )

That is correct TotalP

I'm yet to finish the original on PC and just 2 days ago I gave a try to ME2 demo. Quite interesting how the sequel allows you to customize the main character.

Jake3604997d ago

I don't remember many PS3 fanboys saying it was mediocre! Can't wait to get it on the PS3, i knew if i waited long enough it would eventually come. :P

The 7 Best Western RPGs: Immersive Adventures

RPGs are often huge, sprawling endeavours. With limited playtime, we have to choose wisely, so here's the best western RPGs available today.

SimpleSlave17d ago

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

DustMan17d ago

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave17d ago (Edited 17d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
