Arklay Post states: "This is the trailer for the just announced and once heavily rumored port of Bioware’s sci fi sequel Mass Effect 2. Enjoy! More info as it surfaces."
I assume it will Include all DLC's and will not having problems to Change discs.
i was hoping they'd bang on Mass Effect 1 on the same disc as ME2. :(
That would be really good.
. I thought of that too...
That is published by MS. But EA is the publisher now. That means ME 3 will come for PS3 too.
Valve, Bungie, and Bioware, all on board? Did someone say it only does everything? I hope they don't screw up the port, though.

Post away PS3 fans muhahahahhaa!!!! :D I have soooo many of these. Just wait 'till you see the PMs I was sent back then lol
Great News, PS3 library keep growing, more Amazing games to play ME2 for PS3 Finally!
the 2 disks weren't a big deal at all, you changed the disks once and that was it, it's not a big deal.
Apparently, De-Mon was right. :D
De Mon was De Man :)!
Now I feel bad for calling him just another NeoGoof. Then again, he might have just had a lucky guess.
Yes, De-Mon does have a soul.
It aint Uncharted, but it's something I guess. Hope ME2 is better than the first one though.
I played both and I can assure you without doubt that ME2 is devine and I cant wait to play this game on my ps3... OOOhhh so excited!! I love my ps3.
It's much better than the first one, everything has been tweaked to make the game more enjoyable. Granted there are less RPG elements but it's one of the greatest games this gen. No it aint Uncharted, both are 3rd person shooters but that's where the similarities end. For some this game is better than Uncharted. I still can't decide which is better, but you don't have to. Just enjoy both of these unbelievable games.
Uncharted 2 is better!
Dont get me wrong I love uncharted 1 and 2 but mass effect 2 is only marginally behind uncharted 2 in terms of quality...
Mass Effect 2 had better gameplay, but I enjoyed the story in Mass Effect 1 more. Both games are great though. Kind of sucks to only play 2/3 of the story. Seems kind of wrong to begin a tale without actually ever "beginning" the tale.
You can get ME on PC for 10 bucks so it's not a big deal.
ME2 is much better than UC2 imo
Guess I was wrong. *eats crow*
I love how they use the Homoarakhn Font PS3 logo
I hate that font, reminds me of the Spider Man films....that sucked
Does not compute! OWNAGE!!!!!
Cool, but hopefully they will release Mass Effect 1 as well.
wtf lol.... video is pretty small.
Full screen helps.
From what I gather, this game is quite a gem. After hearing all that depressing info about the overhyped rubbish that is Mafia 2 (imo), this is a breath of fresh air and I am greatful to be able to play it on my PS3 now. Edit: WTF yeah, that video was kinda short though :/
it is the awesomes
My gut is telling me this is gonna reach 1000% any min now.
already have the 360 version got it for like 12 bucks at wal mart one day would have been nice to have the ps3 version. Hope they port the first one also so people can enjoy both games
360 still has the best version since Mass Effect 2 really calls for Mass Effect. I still feel more compelled to play this on the 360. I can accept it a day late, but it is a dollar short.
My PC says hi.
My PS3 says bug off
... will let you know how that goes. But right now the PC version looks better.
PC version does that too and it looks way better than 360.
Play ME1 if you can! Borrow a 360, buy a used from Gamestop and return it within a week. You'll gain so much of the storyline! I'm starting ME2 today for the first time on 360, but I can honestly tell you that there are many plot elements, character backgrounds, and history that's worth checking out.
or get it on pc,..
...they can just install on the PC they're using to browse this website, lol.
I agree, its possible to play ME2 without playing ME1 but you would be missing a lot, also IMO ME1 was better than ME2. I beat ME1 like 4 times and with ME2 I had enough with a single playthrough, I miss the mako, inventory, customizing weapons...etc and i hate mining on ME2
Micrsoft has to be ticked right now. Not meant as flame bait, just pointing out that Mass Effect series was one of the last big holdouts for the 360 in terms of AAA exclusives. Now Bioware and Bungie working with EA on PS3 stuff. What has the world come to!? Glad to see Bioware expanding though. The more platforms they sell on, the happier I'll be. REALLY hope to hear about Mass Effect 3 soon though. *fingers crossed
Do you people still consider games ALSO ON PC to be "exclusive?"
Good for PS3 owners, but without Mass Effect 1 they are still losing out on the overall story arc.
so what about xbox360 owners who bought me2 but not me1? Were they lost when they played part 2?
Well I obviously can't speak for those people, but it would be like watching The Empire Strikes Back without watching the original Star Wars. There are many things that you just wouldn't understand.
They had a demo on xbl for me2 including some info about part 1
Devil may cry 4, Ace combat 5, Tekken 6 etc.. says hello.
some extent...(didn't relate to previous games except for cameos of Trish and Lady) but c'mon...Ace Combat 5/Tekken 6? There was barely a story to begin with, and I know the Tekken/Iron Fist Tournement/Mishima Zaibatsu story almost by heart. Trust me, people would not be lost because of starting Tekken 6 w/o playing 1-5 (plus otheriterations). In fact, to be completely honest, Tekken 6 actually had the best flasback/catch-up of the "Tekken saga" than any of the previous Tekken games (do to the lengthy recap giving when starting the scenario mode in T6)...perhaps any other fighter period (except Blazble). As for Ace Combat.....do I even have to explain that one? Basically most people who jump right in to ME2 should be fine. Serious gamers who want to whole story will go play ME1 (via xbox/PC) or just check the wiki.
So they are only releasing ME2 on PS3? What about ME, I mean if you are gonna release ME2 don't you have to release ME as well. I mean it only makes sense. It doesn't bother me much since I have a 360 as well, but to the PS3 only owners, why play the 2nd game of a series without playing the first game?
the first game i think was pub by MS, what EA could do is have background info in the beginning or something or at the menu have ME1 story and it will go through the story that way.
I was unaware that MS published the first ME. Definitely makes more sense now.
I sure hope Bioware will do something to retell the story of the first game. Be it a summary movie or whatever. I just hope it's not text based. I can't stand reading especially with a very large storyline in Mass Effect 1.
trailer made me think it was made by pro fanboys
i guess we wont b gettin the first mass effect on ps3,but willl i get the story if i jus play frum 2
There are things that happen in the first one that carry weight into ME2. finding out about the reapers was the best part of the story. You gotta play the first one.
And now he just found out about them from you, douchebag. Way to ruin it! Mass Effect 2 is structured so that you could still understand it (and gain insight into the events of the first game) even if you had not played Mass Effect. You will definitely gain more of an understanding if you play the first one, and I highly recommend. Granted, I never finished the first game, but I wish I did. You can probably buy Mass Effect for PC for about $10. It's a great game and worth the playthrough. To somebody knowledgeable: Yes, MS published ME, but so what? I thought that whoever owns the rights to the franchise/title can republish it for a different platform if they desire. What is stopping Bioware (assumed to be the rights holder) from republishing a different version of the first game for PS3?
You'll gain insight, but not full insight. Also, you won't have your actions in the first game carry on to the second and eventually the third. Which I thought was a pretty cool feature. Anyway, enjoy.
Just that they are there. It will still all be a surprise when you find out about them if you had actually finished the game you would have known that you a$$.
If you can play MGS4 without playing the others or paying attention to it's story, I'm 100% sure you'll live with just Mass Effect 2.
ME choices affect the game. It's not just cosmetic.
MGS4 isn't based on the gamer's choice made back in MGS1, 2 or 3. Kojima knew how the prequel story has unfolded when designing MGS4. Plus MGS is not a RPG where "Snake" would have classes, special skils and made different decisions in the prequel. Having played ME2 with and without important ME1 saved game, the game does play differently and certain character/story changes happened differently. Yes, just by playing ME2 as standalone is still a great game, but having played with the ME1 import saved game, I like the game better being personalized. But it's still good to hear PS3 only gamer gets the chance to taste the rich Mass Effect universe.
Those decisions are made for you in ME2. They even ask you "do you remember what happened?" and give you an opportunity to decide the outcomes. If you never played the story then you might just be guessing, but if you played the story on PC and entered the possible outcomes on a PS3 playthrough, you wouldn't be missing much.
I know it's not just cosmetic. What I'm saying is: You'll live.
Officially the only game I wanted from the 360 is now on the PS3. 12
Being an owner of both PS3 and X360, this kind of news is just amusing to read. I already played ME2 back in January 2010. Part of the fun about ME2 on X360 is able to import my ME1 saved game and see the little changes in the story and characters. I also replayed the game without import and the game played "more generic" without the choices I made in ME1. Without ME1 on PS3, this very neat ME1 saved game import feature will not be available. Don't see the point of getting so excited about a year old game by the time PS3 version comes out because if you are so interested in PS3 version and don't have X360, you probably have played it on the PC by now. The PS3 "bonus contents" probably will be the X360 DLC stuff. Update: Doesn't surprise me that more feedbacks on my comment will be disagree. Unless you have played the ME1 import feature, you will not understand. I'm very interested to see how my decisions from ME1 will carry into ME3 when it comes out.
The decisions in ME1 hardly changed anything. You got some extra lines of dialogue and that's about it. Bioware themselves said that each game in the series is unique and can be enjoyed without the others.
Beta-testers? You obviously no nothing about ME. Without ME, ME2 really isn't as compelling. It's still a great game, but the personalization of having played ME1 and carrying your save over makes it a goty contender. They should bring ME1 over but if remember correctly Microsoft published that so licensing issues can occur.
there goes the highest rated 360 exclusive game Portal went multi and actually has steam works on PS3 now l4d is also rumored to be coming to ps3 I'm sorry folks, and I honestly feel for the xbros out there...ms doesn't give a shit about you! their lack of investment in 1st party shows that...You either Kinect or settle for Halo, gears and fable when ps3 enjoy a shit load of exclusives and no honestly not trying to troll here, this is the sad situation as it is...I hope MS wise up and actually get some more new 1st party
