Medal of Honor is returning with a modern warfare twist. For some this is a godsend, bringing the franchise into the present in more ways than one. That said, for some its world world foundations are rubbing the wrong way.
Very creative pun in the title.
I agree it destroys the 'Will you Kinect with Kinect?' and 'Will you be moved' Articles
I see what they did there.
Hmmm, so it's okay to shoot everything and everyone except American soldiers? These soccer mom's need to realise that in the last installment of Medal of Honor, you got to play as NAZIS!!! OMG
That's hardly the point. Anyway, I'm about tired of this debate. It's not even a big deal. Ppl who dont care about the Taliban will play the game and ppl who hate them with a flaming passion wont. The media's just bored and needs something to over react about. "On to the next one. Somebody call the waitress."
That title made me rofl
Am I the only one that thinks is just down right stupid that people are offended by this?
As I wrote in the article, I can see how this might sit poorly with some people but at the same time this is no way being forced on them. EA has every right to make any game they want.
But then again it's still just an opinion. I find it odd that here on N4G ppl want their opinions respected but dont wanna respect others............ actually it's not that odd :/
I wish things like this could be made more simple. If you want it then buy it, but if you find something offensive about it then don't buy it. People who have a problem with the game are just making things worse by giving the game publicity. It's not like the game is making fun of the soldiers. I am pretty sure there are many parts in the game where they will be giving praise to all the men and women who died fighting for the country.
Yea, some are taking this too seriously.
seriously there is a controversity ? Especially after being allowed to play for years , the far worse german nazis ?
killed countless German soldiers in any kind of form, and on-line shooter fans have killed about 100 billion American soldiers, but killing Americans as Taliban is regarded as ridiculous. It's all very selective. And no, I am not German, but in earlier online games the Germans always were the bad guys, though nobody cared.
Just wait until Homefront is released, then the ''mind-everybody's -business'' media will be ashamed of the possibility to attack American soldiers within their own homeland by playing a North Korean guy. Game industry becomes larger, and then we get this shit.
We are Americans. Why would we support the killing of our own soldiers? We make the games, we choose to be the heroes. I think you sir are anti-American.
exactly the point you choose to be heroes but you arent heroes at all what did i see in the vietnam war http://www.suite101.com/con... http://en.wikipedia.org/wik... http://en.wikipedia.org/wik... and then after all of that crap you put the Vietnamese through you all run away leaving them to feel the affects of napalm bombs and the south viets to the north
shit double post
To be honest, I'd rather play the entire game on the side of the Taliban. Fed up of being with the Americans, their story is always so bland.
So what's the exact storytelling of the Taliban you have in mind? It'll probably be extremely intellectual. ALLAH AKBAR! ICANBLOWUPWESTERNER! THROWSTONESATRAPEDWIVES! SHARIAHHH, INSHALLAH! ALLAH AKBAR!
I was thinking more along the lines of playing as one of the many, many taliban soldiers that don't want to fight, but are threatened & conscripted by the very few mentallists that have that "ALLAH AKBAR! ICANBLOWUPWESTERNER! THROWSTONESATRAPEDWIVES! SHARIAHHH, INSHALLAH! ALLAH AKBAR!" attitude. Although it's probably easier to believe that the Afghans that have been forced to swap farming tools for rifles want to destroy all westerners isn't it? It'd make for a decent game seeing it from the other side. But then of course America wouldn't be the good guys..AND WE CAN'T HAVE THAT.
@Johandevries: Yeah, the Taliban equivalent of the American 'McDonalds, all muslims are terrorists, liberty means forcing pseudo-democracy on the world, football, overweight!' /s You dumb fuck.
Stop yelling that lines.. Seriously.. :/ Typical Amirikkkun (that hated Moslem)..
@Calm Down Sunshine I actually think that would be a really cool idea. I think one of the biggest problems that helped to prolong the Iraq War as long as its been going on was the "us vs. them" mentality. It was only after our strategy opened itself to the idea of accepting that this isn't a black and white conflict that we started to make ground. I think a video game based around the concept of humanizing our foes could be really interesting.
Iraq war type shooter we've seen it millions of times.it's gonna sell alot regardless anyway.
I think there's a thin line between freedom and censorship. This line is getting blurrier day by day. I also think this line is where morality leads us to put it. No one would care about a soccer game, it's alright. But what if there was a game about shooting pregnant women? I believe most of us would take that game down inmidiately. Is playing as talibans offensive? Was MW2's airport level shooting civilians offensive? It's up to each of us. To me it's not wrong that EA put talibans, but it's of bad taste and should be only sold to mature people. It's something like GTA, playing as narcos, assassinating people, pimping with whores...definitely not for the younger gamers.
The game is rated M and not intended for younger gamers.
Being rated M doesn't imply that the game won't be sold to the younger ones.
It's illegal to be sold to younger ones. It's the parents fault if the child gets a hold of a copy of the game. Bad parenting. The game is intended for adults and not made for children.
Yeah, that's the way it should be, but we all know that most sellers sell games to children without giving a s**t what type of content or rating the game has and the age of the buyer...at least at my place. It happens everyday and everywhere. How many times have we seen teenagers smoking or getting drunk? And that's because sellers sell ignoring laws. Same goes to videogames...
Here a easy fix just do not take the faction the taliban. Name it something else and everything is good.
It is hard to do inventory in Afghanistan because of the tally ban.
Only thing that should be banned are the idiots who whinge about something so petty.. I vote they should be "talibanned" from ever opening their mouth again.
Title is WIN
Note to self, use more puns in the future.
