Will GTA 5 be revealed at Gamescom?

GTA5 hasn’t been announced but it doesn’t take a brain surgeon to figure out that Rockstar are going to be releasing another GTA title in the relatively near future.

At the moment we are still waiting for final details on Rockstar’s two other titles, L.A. Noire and Agent but in all reality neither of those titles have the pulling power of GTA.

Earlier this year we expected GTA5 to be announced at E3 but in the weeks running up to E3 Rockstar announced that they will have no presence on the show floor. With no official presence there was no chance of a major announcement, however all that can change at Gamescom this year.

r* doesn't need $50 mill... gta4 sold a lot....

WhittO4993d ago (Edited 4993d ago )

lol does Activision NEED another Billion or so from yet another COD?
No...Does that stop them?.. Of course Not.

Besides, I would be happy for a new (greatly improved) GTA, atleast they havent released like 4 different versions of it this gen already! Trying to Milk it dry like Activision have with Cod.

MS paid $50 million for a year timed exclusive DLC for GTA, you really think they wouldn't spend another $50 mill if not more to make sure the next GTA comes to their console?

EDIT: I'm down here dude, fail reply.

InfectedDK4994d ago (Edited 4994d ago )

Yeah thinking of it I might think they would be stupid enough to do such a thing again.. TIMED exclusive.. 50 million $ wow.. I think they only did so to manipulate people into buying a 360 instead of the superior PS3.

EDIT: Ye I know, I fixed it ;)

With the success of Read Dead, I seriously doubt they would go system exclusive. Also, if they were going to go single console, they would need a new engine otherwise, why only release on the one system their engine runs worst on?

DaTruth4994d ago

I don't care if it's exclusive(although I'd prefer it), but if they pull another sub-HD on us I will be buying it used and I don't even care about the price, just don't want them to get my money for shoddy ports!

gtamike4994d ago (Edited 4994d ago )

GTA 5? don't they mean "The next GTA" GTA5 is for the next gen consoles not this gen...

GTA4 was soooo bad, so next GTA is a rent

EDIT
GTA San Andreas is still the best (vice city also)

The haven't officially announced Agent yet; have they?

Mmmkay4994d ago

e3 2k9 says hello..

they have not released a trailer yet..

BrianB4994d ago

they should set it in Detroit

bnaked4993d ago (Edited 4993d ago )

Agent will be better than any GTA...

"We have always enjoyed making action games, and with Agent we are making what we believe will be the ultimate action game," said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. "Agent is a game we have wanted to make for a long time. The team in Edinburgh is doing an amazing job combining intense action, atmosphere and story in a great period setting to create something that feels quite unique. We cannot wait for people to experience this game."

Rockstar North are busy with Agent! Don't expect a new GTA title untill 2012

So rumours and editorials become the thing to get us through the week...

Ex-Rockstar Dev Finally Explains Why Small Planes Randomly Crashed in GTA San Andreas

Former Rockstar Games Technical Director Obbe Vermeij has finally revealed why some planes would randomly crash in GTA: San Andreas.

Profchaos12d ago

This fly by feature was on the cutting room floor due to the random plane crashes and it's one of those things I'm so thankful made it into the final version as these random fly by and crashes make the world seem more alive on the extremely limited PS2 hardware you needed everything you could possibly get in a open world to convey that feeling.

And accross hundreds of hours of gameplay I probably died around 3 times as a result of these fly by failures but I loved every time it happened

isarai12d ago (Edited 12d ago )

It made the world feel more human, and honestly kinda insane that even today with all these open world games, almost no one can capture that like R* even when compared to their ps2 games

Skuletor11d ago

Lol, I remember those. I vaguely remember dying from one crashing into my car once too.
