Although Gears of War three is quite a while away from release, not many people have been talking about how good this game really looks. Hey danmachine, I don't know what is wrong with your eyes, but that looks as good as anything I have seen in Uncharted 2. I play Uncharted 2 online quite often and I have beaten the story mode twice.

Now, Killzone 3 might end up looking better than this, but right now this looks as good as anything currently available.

Definitely not. Gears of War has always had good textures. Previous Gears of War titles fell a little short of Uncharted 2 because of the lack of dynamic lighting in the first two games, which Gears 3 now has.

To me it sounds like you are the one that is being swayed by Naughty Dog's awesome art design for Uncharted 2 and not looking at things objectively.

Not much to discuss. It was the first next gen game with next gen graphics. It set the bar with the best cover system, the best melee and maybe most importantly, the best graphics and game play this gen.

There is no game that comes even close to the level of detail and chaos that Gears brings to the table...lets take a look.

First up Gears of War 1 E3 2006 IN GAME trailer. This changed EVERYTHING...lol. A bit blurry, the video, NOT the game, but the greatness shines through...BTW..I haven't seen this clip in years. If this game released tomorrow, it would still be AWESOME. It's all about the game play. Everything is pre-rendered now.

This is the train level from Gears 1. The guy playing loved the shot gun but the chainsaw offers great close quarter mayhem as well...lol. That level of enemy destruction doesn't exist in any game, even till this day.

Gifs are no way to look at the most stunning graphics ever...C'mon now...if you can show me a game where enemies are chopped up into tiny little pieces and splatter everywhere in REAL time...I'd love to see it.

Gears Of War 3 will have 4 player co-op, NEW ENEMIES, new melee, new weapons, new levels, new horde beast mode and a all new multi-player.

Gears is one of the most detailed games on the market, not only that but the enemies are much larger than in, well since it was brought up Uncharted 2... All the enemies are beautifully detailed as well and gears 3 really looks phenomenal it can stand against the ps3 exclusives and no one would confuse it for a graphically inferior game unless you're in need of glasses.

You've probably never played Crysis maxed out. If you're going to be obsessed with graphics, at least do it right. UC2 features nothing, but basic human shaped enemies with generic weapons that actually exist. Let's see UC2 do the amount of color and effects Halo: Reach has. Let's see it do the enemy and weapon variety both Halo and Gears of War have, Hell even Killzone has it in single player. Coincidently the less content the better it looks. I'm not saying UC2 is a bad game, I'm saying its not this god of a game people make it out to be.

I loved Uncharted 2, but it's kinda out of place in this article! Uncharted 2 had it's day and gained multiple forms of praise and awards! Don't use the game as a crutch every time something comes out with good graphics. That's what pitiful fanboys do! Ps3 has plenty of good games to be proud of!

Anyway, I have been meaning to pick Uncharted 2 up again. The only thing i'm curious about is, when I traded it in, there were fewer people playing it... like around 2,000 players at any given time!

You're aware GIFs have been around for more than a decade, right?

To answer your question, Motorola, there's software that will convert movie clips to animated gifs. When I export animated GIFs, I typically use a small piece of software called VirtualDub. I'm pretty sure Photoshop, and other Adobe products can do it too.

VirtualDub can, but you may need to install a codec for whatever video format you're using. That, or convert the video file to a raw (uncompressed AVI), then load it into VDub.
