Great list and I agree with the orders for the most part. I really wish that Guerrilla Games was on the list, but I guess they only did one game (released) so far this generation.

darkcharizard5428d ago (Edited 5428d ago )

I disagree,

The makers of Super Mario Galaxy 2, the best game this generation, weren't even mentioned...

@below,
Yeah right! Did you forget or intentionally not mention who created Zelda: Twilight Princess, Smash Bros Brawl, Mario Kart, New SMB, Wii Sports, Wii Sports Resort. Also, Metroid: OM is being co-developed by Nintendo.
Then, it's funny how you mentioned Donkey Kong Country Returns, cuz then I will have to mention Kirby's Epic Yarn, Pikmin 3, Mario Sports Mix and Zelda: Skyward Sword.

I agree that Nintendo should be on the list, but really a lot of Nintendo games are done by other developers and not Nintendo themselves (Wario Shake It!, Metroid: Other M, Donkey Kong Returns, etc). Really the Galaxy series is the strongest thing Nintendo has released this generation.

Super mario galaxy 2 was not the best game of this generation.

I think CryTek should be higher on the list, but overall Valve rocks. I also think Square Enix should have gotten a nod for FFXIII, and Grin should get some props for making some nice PS3 games before closing doors.

Kuzo5428d ago

Grin? The guys who made Bionic Commando. I think that game's currently in the bargain bin.

Kiroe5428d ago

I have to disagree with square. They have been very inconsistent this generation. Even FFXIII had mixed reviews.

BluePhaze_24x75428d ago

I respect what the folks at Crytek have done, but the graphics engine was the star of Crysis, etc... The games themselves just didn't keep my attention, but they are great tech demos for Graphics engines and great benchmarks for PC Graphics cards. I am really hoping that Crysis 2 grabs me much more than the first one did.

MicrocutsX25428d ago

Great list! I would've liked to have seen Insomniac on the list but I guess Naughty Dog has pushed the PS3 further and had better games.

SoSLy5428d ago

Making two games simultaneously(Resistance and Ratchet & Clank) both of which are great games should be a ticket for being one of the top developers.

shak5428d ago

couldn't really agree more on Valve being number one

Review - 100 in 1 Game Collection (PC) | WayTooManyGames

WTMG's Leo Faria: "When a collection has a literal hundred games, you’re bound to find one or two you end up playing for quite a while. Even if 100 in 1 Game Collection is one of the least creative gaming compilations I have ever seen, with the in-game characters themselves stating you shouldn’t expect much from it, it’s not the worst thing in the world. There’s just not a lot of creativity in this package. Most games are clones of classics from thirty years ago, with a less exciting presentation. I guess that, if you can find it for cheap one day, you might get a kick out of some of its content, but this is a bonafide example of “quantity over quality”, not the other way around."
