The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword’s Control Problem

Justin Berube of Ripten: "It should be no surprise that The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is one of my most highly desired Wii titles. Upon it being unveiled at Nintendo’s E3 2010 Press Conference I immediately fell in love with the new art style. The new sword controls looked fantastic and the new items seemed very fun."

I wonder why they can't just implement two ways for Link to control: the right-handed way, and the "true Link" lefty way.

Sandwich Bender5429d ago

Because it's disgusting and unnatural. And God hates lefties.

"Because it's disgusting and unnatural. And God hates lefties"

But the issue the article is focusing on is that normal, non-mutant players have to emulate south paws when using the bow. Why must Nintendo choose to persecute the right-handed so? Have we not suffered enough?

kissmeimgreek5429d ago

I am very dissapointed that nintendo has pretty much just abandoned us adn one of the most interesting things about link (that he was left handed). How hard is it to just mirror link in the game so lefties can play it just as well ( I find it really annoying to try and play wii right handed).

Theonik5429d ago

They have to make a left handed model for link and make every animation again for that model. The other option is what they did on TP which was mirror the whole world for the Left handed version. I still think they are just being lazy though and basing on the fact that most people are right handed.
Off-topic are you really Greek or an imposter?

na-no-nai5428d ago

look im left handed but that doesnt stop me from playing game. i just conform and play with my right hand. its not hard

ChickeyCantor5428d ago

"I am very dissapointed that nintendo has pretty much just abandoned us"

Call me crazy but since when did you actually control your character with your right hand?
Its always been LEFT.
They couldn't abandon you cause you were never an issue to begin with.( and i meant this in a no offensive way btw).

I understand its becomes an issue now since we are in the motion era, but the word "abandoned" seems be thrown around allot.

Theonik5429d ago

Agreed, in Twillight princess they had a reason of the game being pretty much done. Here the only exuse is being too lazy to make 2 models for link.

ChickeyCantor5428d ago

Yeah cause development is based on "lazy"-terms.
I swear gamers are such snobs and arrogant people.
If you don't even have a little insight on how game development works, just stfu will ya?

CobraKai5429d ago (Edited 5429d ago )

They should have both left and right handed Link. At least be consistent about it. Be all right or all left.

But the game's not done so I doubt it'll be a problem.

spooky2055428d ago

When i played twilight princess i noticed link was right handed, which was a head scratcher to me. THen i read that the world was flipped to compensate for the wii mote. I believe nintendo could do a flip world too if they so choose. The original Uncharted did it as a unlockable so why not include a feature like that in the new zelda? Its feasible but it kinda sucks that the minorities get left out.
