I like what I see so far. I hope they will tone it back compared to MW2. I trust Treyarch more than IW to do the series right. Although I'm not 100% sure I'm gonna purchase it yet. The main thing I'm looking for is exploitability. If I see a lot that people can take advantage of I won't be buying it. I enjoy FPS games and considering I traded my last one in for Red Dead Redemption I'm eager to purchase another one. I need one to hold me over until Killzone 3 is released and I like the Vietnam era so I'm leaning towards this.

I wish the streaks were like they were on CoD4 (still the best one since 2007). It just had UAV, airstrike, and helicopter (and the damn thing didn't stay in the air for 2 minutes straight like in MW2 nor was it insanely difficult to take it down). CoD4 had the balance right in almost everything; I just don't get why they changed everything so much when they made MW2. Oh, and NO DEATHSTREAKS either. If you suck, then you should just suck and try to get better, not have Pain Killer given to you so it takes 15 gazillion bullets to take you down. Just my $.02.

need a real reason to consider buying a cod game again. I saw a video the other day of mw2 with exploding toy cars and dolphin diving.

is that all they could come up with in 2 years?

AndrewRyan5156d ago

But everyone who thinks the 5 kill perk (archangel) will be 1st person controlled is a fool. You know how hard that would be to those casuals? They are obviously going to dumb it down and make it lock on to a person or the 10 year olds are not going to play the game.

raptorjacob5156d ago

@AndrewRyan

I disagree. Perfect Dark for N64 had a similar weapon which was controlled first person. i had a blast using that thing, roaming around the level trying not to hit walls. i was around 8th-10th grade at the time and i would consider myself more of a casual. casual doesn't mean inept

Call of Duty isn't Call of Duty anymore. It's not how was back then when it actually took SKILL.

Take out Killstreaks and perks.

End statement.

ChronoJoe5156d ago

Go play CS if you want that.

People with skill, will hand your ass right back to you, on CS. COD is for the wanna-be hardcore crowd, in reality aimed at casuals and mass appeal. Obviously there's always going to be crutches like killstreaks and aim assist.

TrevorPhillips5156d ago

nice find

Looking forward to this one :)

MW2 was a massive disappointment.

frostypants5156d ago (Edited 5156d ago )

MW2 isn't horrible, it's just too similar to MW1. When you play the MW1 maps that are included in the MW2 map packs, this becomes painfully apparent. MW2 is just MW1 with nastier killstreaks. THIS looks better though, with all the character customizations. It brings something new to the table in terms of individuality as well as providing more visual means of clan cohesion. Having maps set in different eras might also make things more interesting. The return of dedicated servers will also make the PC kids very happy. Looks like Treyarch went from being the also-rans to being the better developers/designers.

MW2 is still fun, but only with a group of close friends. For pick-up games, BFBC2 is light years better.

Reefskye5156d ago

Lol speaking of maps Wasteland is like 95% identical to the first CoDs Brecourt map, All they done is upgraded graphics and changed it slightly

NateNater5156d ago

The RC car looks like it'll be a blast!

No pun intended...

KingKiff5156d ago

Looks like an annoying gimmick to me.

But I hate the crap added to draw in the casuals and that's just me. I feel it's a FPS not a racing game lol.

Any word on the possible sub fees? That's is the deal breaker for me.

frostypants5156d ago (Edited 5156d ago )

I have just accepted that COD is the "Golden Tee" of FPS games, now. The first COD took itself somewhat seriously and was at least marginally realistic, but that's all gone out the window. It's purely about gameplay now. Once you accept that it's easier to swallow the gimmicks and have fun with it.

EXID5156d ago

i'm not a huge fan of the expolding rc for the sole reason that grenade spamming is already a huge pain in the ass online as it is. now you've got an explosive that you can't run away from...

f7897905156d ago

That's what I was thinking. This thing better only take 1 bullet to take out or it's going to be a pain in the ass.

Narutodemonx5156d ago

So i guess there gonna make it as best as possible by taking the best parts of the MW2's multiplayer to make it happen.

getonmylev3l5156d ago (Edited 5156d ago )

The Napalm Strike looks bad-ass! I'm just glad they won't be implementing a game-ending killstreak. This will diminish the booster community by half. And if they put cage match back in, then the boosters will be all gone. (And the removal of TI or a heavily modified TI.) I don't know how I'm feeling towards the RC Car at 3. Seems to be OP at the moment. Hopefully they bring the UAV back.

frostypants5156d ago

Nah, I hope the UAV is dead. I think having people show up when they fire is enough. UAVs seemed to only exist to provide some purpose for silencers and the cold-blooded perk. Remove those and UAVs become kind of redundant. People will still be able to sneak but will have to pick their shots. That's what I'd like to see.

Black ops 4, because it was the last cod of duty I was able to dominate with a +2 k/d ratio. Before all the freaking cheating started to happen. It was nice catching people off guard and shooting at them first and getting the kill. Unlike now, where I shoot people first, but they gun me down with less hits, less time, literally feels like they can kill me in a split second. At times, they are able to run away after me shooting them way more than necessary, yet, the second I'm spotted, I'm dead, there's no me running away to cover. They can do cartwheels, summersaults, backflips and gun you down perfectly. They can shoot you across the map with perfect accuracy. They can jump around like morons and gun you down without even having to correct their aim. They have superman split second perfect reactions. That's the best way to describe it, everything they do is spot on perfect. They can spam and spray (no praying) their gun from far away, because they have no recoil or bullet spread. It always feels like I have to aim and also correct my aim when moving around, while these pricks don't have to do the same.

And yes, I know how to play fps games. I dominated many fps games like: Resistance 1&2, kz 2&3, Socom, MAG, Crysis, Gotham City Impostors, blitz brigade etc. all with 2-4 k/d ratio. Kz2 (lag input controls) and resistance (no aim assist in resistance) being the hardest and were the games I reached either close to a 3 k/d ratio or above.

I truly got to enjoy blacks ops 4 and got my money's worth out of it. Afterwords, I would either stop playing cod games after a while, because of the cheating, or would skip buying cod games for a year or two before buying another.

Black Ops 1 Nuketown versus Cold War Nuketown '84

From DownSights: "Black Ops is not Black Ops without Nuketown. Following the tradition of releasing Nuketown for Black Ops games, the new Black Ops Cold War game also offers a revamped Nuketown called Nuketown '84.

Nuketown '84 has the same dimensions and map layout except for the aesthetics. The map's aesthetics have changed to fit the 80s theme, with destroyed buildings and graffiti-filled walls compared to a clean 50s suburban neighborhood seen in Black Ops 1."
