It seemed like everyone forgot about God of War 3 after it came out. That game is right up there with Red Dead and Mass Effect 2.

But they are all very different. I mean you got a cinematic hack and slash, arguably the best looking, the best western game ever made, and a modern day space opera. Your choice.

God of War 3 is great at what it does but to be fair it doesn't last very long, has no multiplayer like RDR, and doesn't have the same replay value as Mass Effect 2.

Im a HUGE GOW fan.....but after stripping the game of unlockable costumes for preorder bonuses and the laughably easy challenge rooms there just wasnt much left after beating the game twice.......Now Mass Effect 2 with its numerous story arcs i can see myself going through it a 3rd time...actually ME2 made me go back and make different decisions in Mass Effect 1.........I know ill get disagrees but screw Halo and Gears, Mass Effect is easily the best franchise on 360 & the best RPG this gen IMHO, damn shame it doesnt sell like Halo and Gears

Edit: This list is Shyt whats with all these games that were released in 2009?

Edit2 @ below I hope you arent refering to me, at least have something intelligent to say or add to the conversation, i know its a stretch but at least try to act like you have some sense and arent in middle school.

@ Raiinstorm81
The reason the list includes games that were released in 2009 is because they were still in the top 10 games sold this year.

What else was there to do after you beat it? I mean most people beat it the day they bought it (I rented it because I knew better) and never looked back.

I'm not knocking the game but come on it was 7-9 hours long at best.

Millions of people all around the world?

Pokemon is one of the most popular videogame franchises. xD There are regional and national tournaments for Pokemon players to compete in. It's arguably more popular than any other RPG franchise.

Pokemon Black and White are gonna sell like hotcakes when they release. I'm absolutely certain of this. xD

ndibu4864d ago

Don't get me wrong, it is doing amazingly well for a PS3 exclusive, but not nearly as well as it was hyped up to be here on n4g.
Hopefully it is able to surpass Halo ODST at least.

Yue94864d ago

god of war 3 is just flat out more fun then any halo game end of story..

Megaton4864d ago (Edited 4864d ago )

...and Alan Wake was supposed to set a new graphical bar for consoles.

Fanboys say stupid things.

HydraxFFx4864d ago

I'll be honest, I haven't played God of War 3 since the week it was released, but those 8 hours were the most exciting hours I have had all year.

comp_ali4864d ago

Almost all of them are Wii.

Gr814864d ago

Nintendo pretty much destroying the comp.

Both requels over 2 and 3? Clowns. Those are two of the most boring games I've ever played.

GoW 3 was amazing, but I personally hated just one thing. (This is on me alone, because I was dumb, lol.) I hated that you couldn't skip cutscenes on repeat playthroughs. I had to go back through the game a third time because I missed one trophy accidentally on my way to the platinum... The cutscenes were great the first go round, even the second... But the third was pretty agonizing.

Haven't played Ragnarok, but I still think GoW 4 is a wonderful game in its own right. Not sure how I would stack them up against each other honestly.

Monstieur27d ago (Edited 27d ago )

I don't consider the reboot part of the original series. The original series were high-skill games with combos and rewards for mixing things up.

solideagle26d ago

lol square, square and triangle is the only combo you needed. I have played all of them on the hardest difficulties...

Golfcoachh26d ago

Maybe I’m just old school but I just couldn’t get into the last two. Maybe it’s the slower action and more story telling but the original trilogy was by far my favorite.

Crows9026d ago

It's not that youre old school. They're different genres

JL293025d ago (Edited 25d ago )

Me either, at all. It's just yap yap yap. They try to be a RPG's instead of being action games like they used to be.

Fluke_Skywalker26d ago

I'd put the two psp games over 3 in terms of story any day. But not over 2.

My favorite was part 2 and I think Ragnarok is better that 2018.

Shane Kim27d ago

The newer games are better imo.

ravens5227d ago

There is no worst. Except for Ascension, only cause I didn't play it lol. They are all masterpieces. 1,2,3, 2018 and Ragnarok. 1 of, if not the greatest video game franchise...besides MetalGear.

Snookies1227d ago

Oh wow, I actually forgot that Ascension even existed... I never played it either.
