Wal-Mart Stores Inc. this week is holding a new ‘2-for-$30‘ game sale for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3 in a new online promotion.
Eligible titles include Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2009, Star Wars: Clone Wars – Republic Heroes, Guitar Hero Aerosmith, NBA Live 09, NFL Head Coach 09, and Sonic the Hedgehog.
Ha i could most likely go into gamestop and get two or more of those games for under 30$. The thing i hate about Walmart/Meijer/Target is they will have old games that are priced at $60 even though i could go into gamestop and get it brand new for $20.
That's why I freaked out when I saw MotorStorm: Pacific Rift for $15 at a Wal-Mart! The Gamestop in the same plaza had it for $40! I had to move quick to pick it up. Turns out I got the last copy =P
I've seen some deals at target every now and then, when Skate 2 dropped down to $40 they had it on clearance for around $23 but besides the occasional deal they usually rape you on game prices.
must be different in the states... in canada, walmart ALWAYS has eb'(gs) prices beat. a lot of good games come out at $40 at walmart while eb sells them for $5 more than all the regular retailers. not only that, at least you get a sealed copy at walmart =P
At least at Wal-mart they aren't selling used games where the dev gets 0% cut. Gamestop can suck my balls. They are just middlemen who strive to rip as many people off as possible. They buy used games for $10 and sell them for $55. The last time I went there they said "If you get this membership card for $5, you'll get $5 of of those 2 games" (meaning a $5 savings) "plus a magazine subscription that's a $15 value". I figure, wtf I might as well even though the magazine subscription could probably be purchased for $5. Except when I leave the store I realize he charged me for the fvckin magazines. Fvck gamestop and their 'corporate script of things to say to make people think they are getting a deal when you're actually ass raping them'.
Price-Matching. They'll price-match any local competitor (notice: LOCAL competitor) when it comes to price. Only valid on in-store competition, not online. I take advantage of this when places like RadioShack or GameStop offer deals, especially during holiday shopping season.
Any huge corporation is the devil, that includes both gamestop and walmart, deal with it.
Wal-Mart is fine when it comes to games (despite the fact that they push other businesses out when it comes to other merchandise). They don't buy/sell used games to rip people off and don't buy out stupid pre-order bonuses (which I effing hate). I usually only buy from Amazon, but if I ever want to quickly grab a game, I'm never going to gamestop again.
WTF are you talking about.. hate to break to you but Walmart, Best Buy, Blockbuster and even Microcenter sell used games. Are they the devil too?
Why SHOULD the developer get a cut from the sale of a USED game? Let's use furniture as an example. When you buy a coffee table, and decide to unload it later because it doesn't match your new apartment, do you feel bad if you don't give the furniture store a cut of the craigslist sale? It's the SAME THING. The game is yours, you bought it, and you have the right to sell it as long as you are selling the original and not keeping an illegal copy. And whomever you sold it to, in this case Gamestop, has the same rights. Or are you against second hand furniture stores, as well? Stop buying into the propaganda being spread by big game corporations.
all of those titles suck....
Uh, thats why theyre two for thirty bucks.....what did you expect? Red Dead Redemption and Resistance 2?
LOL @ NFL Coach 09'
What did you expect, the games retail for $15 each, they aren't even considered platinum titles.
Not that good of a selection, however i can pick up the Star Wars games.
Wow, where'd Wal-mart find those at, the Bathroom? Talk about suck and suck some more.
nah ill pass, already got half of them
I wouldnt mind getting Star Wars:Forced Unleashed, I thought that was a fun game in my opinion. But the rest of the games, I wouldnt are just complete crap.
I can't view the page... Someone please post the article here. I hate it when people who submits news doesn't actually post anything on n4g.
I hate Gamestop just as much as the other guy but why dont people get mad at Amazon for allowing used games to be sold. Ill tell ya why. Its fine to do something on your own, but as soon as you build a buisness around that idea thats when people start hating. I dont hate Gamestop for selling used games. I hate them because of their pricing model and condition of games(missing cover art and manuals, and sometimes charging more for used games than new copies). Buying used games from www.gamestop.com is always a complete crap shoot and refuse to fall victim to the scheme.
Never traded with Amazon to know. Most of those places are a rip off though. Give you 20 fora 60.00 game and then slap 54.99 on it. I do not see why anyone would go to them
Believe it or not, the Toysrus trade-in program offers more compared to Gamestop. In most cases, they'll give you upwards of $30 in store credit towards video game trade-ins (on newer titles) compared to Gamestop's insulting trade-in values.
Always check the bargain bin at Walmart. I got Skate 2 for $5 and Brutal Legend for $10 for ps3.
i got brutal legend for 5$ :) its a good game tho the last boss a challenging stage battle if you dont know what to do
they also have the PsP go marked at $199 with 3 games. :O
I buy used games on Amazon for less than $15 most of the time :D. Same thing.
The difference is these are brand new. So opposite thing.
The local Target store here had copies of Brutal Legend for PS3 on clearance for $4.98. Yes, I bought a copy. lol
I want to get uncharted 2 and god of war 3 if that's possible. Can someone please reply if I can get both those games for 30 bucks.
