Analyst: COD Subscription Could Generate $100m

What a load of nonsense!!. Ive played COD since day one! and every game since (online)but not in a million years am I going to pay a subscription!!. PC gaming is expensive enough as it is!.And considering the COD games just get worse and worse after cod4, I`ll just find a different game to play

Yeah, yeah. Heard it all a million times. "I will never pay, those bastards will never get my money!". Right... As soon as they announce subscription, most people will say "Well, 10$ is not that bad for so much fun..." and fork out cash.

It is because of people like this, people with no backbone and dignity whatsoever, that all online gaming will go way of the subscription.

People, they will charge you because they know that you will pay. Kotick knows you better than most of you know yourselves. He knows that you have to get your daily fix of online gaming. And just as a real drug dealer, he gives you the first sample for free and then starts charging for all your other fixes.

The only thing that can stop this from happening is that gamers unite and boycott COD franchise and clear the servers if they try to implement this. However, lets face it, this will not happen since most of you already preordered COD black ops.

Now, disagree away, it's quite expected.

360 gamers pay for xbl. I'm sure many would pay an extra fee to play a fav game. The popularity of xbl has others in the industry foaming at the mouth with other fee schemes. Xbl shows that there is more easy money to be made. Sad that gamers of today are the one ultimately steering the industry in the direction its heading.

This is a general human behaviour, not just gamers. Human race in general bends over more and more each day. And there is always someone behind us to take advantage of that situation.

Gaming simply started following this trend.

MMORPGs require subscription, now FPS will require subscription, XBL requires subscription. On top of everything, we also have to pay for games that get more and more expensive every day. DLC goes for insane prices (onslaught mode for BC2, map packs for MW2).

So the real question is, when do we say enough? I say NOW, but most people will say "let's give it some time".

WoW has servers. COD does not. Activision will in essence provide us, the gamers, with 0ms lag times for multiplayer; regardless of where you live.

Yeah, that'll be the day. They'll strap a $10/month sub to COD but still let it be peer based hosting. Pieces of $hi+!
