Every so often, there's a game that wriggles past the fence that catches our eye on a more personal level. It has the shape of other games, but there's just something about the way it looks that makes us want to chase after it a little, catch it, look at it, and rub noses with it.
For this Examiner, Heroes of Three Kingdoms by Perfect World Entertainment - known also as Chibi (as in the Red Cliffs, not a cutesy cartoon character from Japan) - was one of these games.
Three Kingdoms fans will be glad to know that a new weapon, the War Fan, has been released in Perfect World Entertainment's Heroes of Three Kingdoms.
Known commonly as the "weapon" of Zhuge Liang (Kongming), war fans were used as signalling devices for strategists; in HOTK, the War Fan offers much more.
Three new releases have hit the ancient Chinese worlds found in Heroes of Three Kingdoms - the Halberd, and both Lu Bu and Diao Chan fashion sets.
A few weeks ago, I submitted some curious questions to the team at Perfect World Entertainment. To my delight, AJ Potter, Product Manager for Heroes of Three Kingdoms, took some time out of his schedule to participate in an email Q&A session. Between my submission to PWE and the posting of this article, Heroes of Three Kingdoms has undergone the transition into Open Beta. Potter and the rest of Perfect World Entertainment have learned some valuable lessons during the Closed Beta phase, and Potter provides some insight into the game’s growth and future.
Good stuff man, im digging this the more I look into it. Also, any game with samurai swords is cool in my book
