gamrFeed - "With just one day to go until release, VGChartz pre-order estimates have placed Starcraft II at nearly 800,000 units this week. The sequel to the 11-million-selling original released back in 1998, StarCraft II is easily one of the most eagerly-awaited PC releases of all time and VGChartz estimates that sales in the Americas alone in week one should be more than one million units."

800,000? Thats more then MW2...right?

No, but still great for a PC-only title... Modern Warfare 2 had 4.5m pre-orders worldwide (2.5m in the Americas)

In before PC is dying. This is just on retail as well, god knows how many more there is direct download (probably more).

despair3059d ago

not to mention the South Korea sales will probably be double any other country.

I know Im getting this day one and I havent preordered this. Game is freakin amazing though.

Zir03059d ago

Not even close, MW2 (360) was 1.8ml preorders with one week to go.

Gago3059d ago

MW2 on 360 alone had almost 2 million

anyways, I want to see how many preorders the have in South Korea

Starcraft II and HALO: Reach are tearing it up on the Pre-order Charts!

If I had a decent PC gaming rig, I would be buying SCII, but alas, my computer is woefully deficient in PC gaming standards.

kevnb3059d ago

while it will be good, its not a huge selling franchise like the other games named.

despair3059d ago

i think it sold like 2-3 million and thats for a new IP. I see LBP2 selling 5 million at least, its much more popular now than when the first one came out.

Convas3059d ago (Edited 3059d ago )

Ermmm, I'm not sure why you're feeling so insecure, but neither of the games you mention are software in the Top 5 on the pre-order charts. Nice try though?

What I was trying to say was nothing but those two titles are over 500,000. That's saying something about the level of anticipation for the titles.

Fishy Fingers3059d ago

South Korea numbers should be interesting.

Darkfiber3059d ago

They don't buy games there, they pay to play everything.
