GrE's Release of the Week: Limbo

GrE writes, "While giant developers are hard at work over the summer, attempting to churn out their AAA games in time for the holiday release schedule, the smaller indie games get a chance to come out and play. Limbo hits the Xbox Live Arcade Marketplace this week as the first game in Microsoft’s “Summer of Arcade”. Buying either three or all five of the Summer of arcade titles and you will actually receive some of your Microsoft Points back!..."

This game looks slick. Like another Braid, maybe?

bgrundman5029d ago

Maybe Braid with demonic tendencies...

despair5029d ago

and even more twisted ideas

Davedough5029d ago

The game to buy this week. All others should look and learn.

roblef5029d ago

It's hilarious that we still are predominantly fed crap like another installment of sports games or war games when these are the things that make us all stand up and take notice.

bgrundman5029d ago

There is nothing wrong with the sports games! That said, if you base quality on purely originality, then this is a dead ringer.

roblef5029d ago

Nothing wrong with sports games, per se. When they just churn out the next year's game with no new or unique gameplay , then it's just $60 for your brand loyalty

Baka-akaB5029d ago (Edited 5029d ago )

How come folks comes and decide for everyone games they wouldnt even bother play , features no new or unique gameplay ?
It's not anyone fault , but you one , if , as an example , you can't tell that pes 11 is quite different from the previous one .

And since when gaming is more about originality than you know , being fun ?

How about you stop pretending only snobbish posers hating popular games , buy such indie games .

dragunrising5029d ago

Its a day one buy for me for sure. I've never seen anything quite like it. Also, the game may not elude to any religious influences, however the word "limbo" means a lot to me as a Catholic.

starven5029d ago

All the reviews I see are rocking some positive things about this. Guess I'll need to dust off the ol debit card and make a purchase this week.

Spenok5029d ago

It sure does. Ill have to buy it asap.

It's now time for somebody to go up to Xbox Live Gold whilst it's fast asleep, then hold a pillow tight over its mouth until it stops breathing.

crazyCoconuts266d ago

This is game pass though. Doesn't seem that much better right now.

Profchaos266d ago

Looking at the quality of games mixing the two up in this case it's an easy mistake to make

BrainSyphoned266d ago

I forgot Everspace 2 released so I'm happy with this month.

Profchaos266d ago

Well I guess we know where all that gamepass money is going right into a giant s labelled bucket

ChasterMies266d ago

Microsoft is spending $70B on Activision. That doesn’t leave a lot left over for other AAA games.

monkey602266d ago

I've really wanted to play A Short Hike and Airborne Kingdom for a while now so it's cool they've been added but yeah I don't see this exciting the masses
