Those who remember Google's recent logo-replacement might be aware that PAC-MAN has hit its 30th anniversary and the pop-culture icon has been popping up everywhere. In the latest of PAC-related titles for the App Store, Namco have released a new three-match title, PAC-Match Party to celebrate the event.
TheAppera: And as competitive as the App Store is with match-3, this game will have to be something revolutionary to make a dent in the status quo. Does it do that? Umm, no. But is it a bad game? Probably not.
TPG writes: "Hello everyone this is Michelle from the portable gamer with your iCasual report for PacMatch Party HD from Namco Networks for the iPad. PacMatch is a match 3 or more game built on the success of Pac-man, the beloved game character we probably all know by now. The goal of this game is to not only match 3 or more items, but do it in the area of the screen that level # appears."
STP: "We admit that we were skeptical when we heard Pac-Man was getting his own Match-3 game. Generally speaking, characters from a lot of gaming classics don’t do well when taken out of their comfort zones. Pac-Match Party is, as we feared, an obvious cash-in with little substance. This is disappointing, but what really makes the game one to avoid are the game-breaking bugs when played on iOS 4.0."
