Atari to hold off on PlayStation 3 titles until 2007

Speaking in an exclusive interview with GamesIndustry.biz, Atari CEO Bruno Bonnell has confirmed that the publisher has no plans to release any PS3 games before 2007.

Bonnell said Atari intends to support all three next-gen consoles "fairly equally", adding, "It's just that we're lacking information about the PS3 at this stage, because we have basically a rough release date and a high retail price point.

"As far as the Wii and the Xbox 360 go, we'll be there for this season; for PS3, we'll probably have to wait a little later in the year before we release some new titles." And, according to Bonnell, that means no Atari titles on PS3 until 2007.

most of the top games arent coming out till 2007 anyway

And whats the best game that atari has? Driver? And i thought Driver got bought out by ubisoft anyway. Who cares about atari?

specialguest6473d ago (Edited 6473d ago )

exactly what i was just thinking. like you stated, most games aren't going to make it till '07. hell! the PS3 isn't releasing till late '06 anyway. i think the games that are being released this year is enough to cover for 2 more months until next year.

ghostface6473d ago

How is it sh*tty for sony when it well be only a couple of months that we will see a game from atari on the PS3.

They tried to turn it into Call of Duty and it killed it off. They should reboot it and go back to it's roots. But they'd ruin it with online-only/multiplayer style bullshit so why bother? I have very fond memories of these games, but this series can stay dead as far as I'm concerned.

Was literally just thinking of this game the other week with the secret nut cracker mission and the shooting Bismarck dog lmao. Loved these games as a kid

I wish they’d remake warfighter

Strictly for the campaign

I have fond memories of playing the Medal of Honor Breakthrough MP Demo. It had two maps and custom servers. Living on campus, I had it downloaded on one of the PC Lab servers so I could access it on any computer at the university. Joined a clan and made friends that I still keep in touch with today.
