RunDLC posted an article that asks whether the original founders of Activision would be pleased with CEO Bobby Kotick's feelings towards the video game industry.
The answer is short and simply...
god no. he's everything they hated about atari in the first place. the company has done a complete 180.
Yeah, he represents everything Activision was founded to stop.
Yea I don't think they would be happy.
Ben Franklin vs Kotick. My cash is on Franklin.
Resign you clown!
At least they make money. Othewise he'd be gone.
Who is this guy? I mean, really. It's scary funny how video game consumers are. They don't know this guy. They see some quotes and lines and they jump on the bandwagon of hate. Every 3 years in this industry you all find a new person or company to hate. I remember when EA was the most hated company in the world. Now you all have traded them in for Activision. In another 3 years it'll be someone else. Wait and see.
Well EA is still hated, Acti is hated because it first started with their mass amount of milking and then Bobby comes out with raising prices of games. And then there was the issue with IW recently. I guess people view these things as unfair. Raising prices for games (PC) and offering a lot less is something to be angered with.
I think, on the PC front, it is warranted from a business standpoint. Consumers have stolen their content for years and years. You have to find a way to be profitable. Can't find the "ones" doing the harm? Punish the whole class room. I agree with them on "certain" issues.
It's called being a conscientious consumer. Why support things that are not beneficial to you. Kotick and the like should be shunned. Would you go to the same restaurant that had decent food but were overcharged, nickel and dimed for every little thing and the owner was a prick?
Get a good look at those eyes. They see through walls, people, mountains and into what matters the most;Money. Mongol General: Kotick! What is best in life!? Kotick: To crush your games, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of the gamers! Mongol General: That is good.
It is interesting how this guy could be just like other CEO's and keep his mouth shut, & release professionally prepared statements..and there would be no public image issues. Considering they have to proactively hire a new ad team to repair public image due to his foot-in-mouth disease, it is an indication he has some questionable professionalism issues as CEO. I work for a much bigger company than any of these game publishers, and I can't imagine our CEO getting in front of press & freeforming it, saying things that insult our customers.
Only satan would be proud of Kotick
wow, scammers out of control on this forum
We have sponsored this miscreant's rise to presumed power, through ignorance and a call of duty. Make a monster and deal with it. When you realise his relevance you can appreciate his apparent arrogance and know full well that self imposed relevant arrogance is fleeting.
I wonder if they would beat bobby kotick up?
One round with Activisions best.My subtle hustle is..........
Hate will of course always transfer, its the way it has always been. Many people hate Activision because they have become what they used to hate. Big company who only cares about money and pretty much nothing else. They used to be about creating good games for the consumer but that is long past. Now they are a shell, only seeing the $$$$ and little else.
It's interesting, because in a way, Activision is in the same spot that EA was years ago. Most of us hated EA for snatching up the NFL rights, but now a lot of us support them because they've invested in new IP. OR, maybe we just dislike Activision that much.
George Washington: Son of America, I am disappoint. Kotick: =C
As a business figure head, probably not. As a business man, probably. Now i dont agree with his ideas, and dont want a single one of said ideas to come to light. But i think they would be proud that he has ideas to bring more money into the business. Seeing as how thats his job and all.
