Metal Gear Solid 3 vs. Metal Gear Solid 3DS, Kingdom Hearts 2 vs. KH 3D, Resident Evil 4 vs. RE: Revelations, Ocarina of Time (N64) vs. Ocarina of Time 3D and more.
For one of the shots, they're using a very old build of the original Snake Eater (where Naked Snake still had Solid's face model). Also, the 3DS Resi screenie is blatanly pre-rendered.
However, until we see actual gameplay footage, comparison screens mean nothing and don't display the 3DS's power at all. I'll hold my judgement till I get to try it out. Hopefully the Nintendo Store will let people try it out soon. I'm hoping they'll have kioks out by the Fall.
I think the comparisons here are fair, for the most part. Except for Street Fighter IV on the PS3/360. Obviously that will look better on consoles. Still, 3DS games look visually impressive.
I like the PS2's 'smoother' and 'cleaner' look better because those sharp jaggies on the 3DS really effect my eyes. But the 360/PS3 comparisons are just plain stupid because by making the images small they loose their superb texture quality and their true resolution is completely lost. If you're going to do a comparison do it right.
Wow do you honestly expect a 3.5" screen sized handheld to have the same resolution of a console? When you view the games on their intended screen, jaggies won't be as apparent since they use a resolution suitable for it's screen. You know pixel density is just as important as resolution. Of COURSE an HD capable 360 meant for viewing on a much larger screen will have much smoother and higher resolution images. I mean, come on, at least be rational if you're going to pointlessly flame. For a tiny handheld system, these graphics are impressive, especially with the ability to render the same graphics in 3D as well.
Everyone who thinks the PS3/360 have better graphics than the 3DS click Agree.
Idiot. I disagree because that was a stupid comment to make. Not because I'm a Wii fanboy, even own a Wii, or care about this article.
...you do care, since you commented.
@pedrami91 This is the N4G comment feed, not the article. I do care about the article though, after I actually read it. When I posted that comment about Ultimate_Revenge I had only seen his comment, not the details of the article.
You just passed the test.
I disagree just on the basis that you are flame-baiting a discussion...shame on you sir.
Can't wait for the 3ds. Software looks amazing for it.
Seriously. The 3DS looks amazing as a handheld. A day one purchase for sure.
probably just for the ocarina of time remake. My favorite game of all time still, end of story. Plus, it looks like Nintendo is really going after the hardcore again and that makes me very, very excited as I have been left with a hole in my gaming heart since the N64.
Wow. What a terrible comparison Okay here's the same shot, vs the same shot. PS2 http://www.videogamesblogge... 3DS http://www.nintendoeverythi... PSP http://pspmedia.gamespy.com... They've delibrately sabotaged the second PS2 metal gear shot. God knows why. I'd say the 3DS versions look slightly better overall though, based on equal shots. MK looks considerably worse on 3DS. I see what they tried to do with the shot though, nice scenery with a lot going on. Makes it look more interesting than a relatively bland MKDD shot, but not better. The RE shot isn't real time. I have RE5 and that DLC and I can tell you that that section isn't real time. I'm not sure if it's in engine, but it's in a small corridor where practically nothing aside the character models and a window is being rendered, so it's not much of a technical feat. Still, I'm calling bullshot on that one. Looks better than PS2 overall, worse than Gamecube and original XBOX.
PS2 shot? Mind telling me where that screenshot is in Metal Gear Solid 3? That's a Peace Walker screenshot - you can see it in the URL. And you talk about this site sabotaging the shots... the purpose of the article was to compare Metal Gear Solid 3 to Metal Gear Solid 3DS. Not to compare one part of the series to another. The other games may be, but considering Metal Gear is a remastered port, that's exactly what should be compared.
... is almost indescribable.
I noticed something, how come when Kojima does a home console (and the PSP) MGS game he uses like a smudgy/gritty-like color scheme?
I can't wait for starfox. I've been dying for a badass starfox game since starfox 64.... wait a muniute.
pretty dam nice: http://www.nintendoeverythi... http://www.nintendoeverythi... http://www.nintendoeverythi...
the only things that the Ds was lacking was good graphical power and faster online. now as the 3ds is going to brake that R.I.P PSP><<<<<< ;<
