Final Fantasy XIV beta launch date revealed

Square-Enix’s latest MMO Final Fantasy XIV will be heading to the PC in September. For a while we’ve known about the release of the beta but no date., until now. Final Fantasy XIV’s official Twitter account gives a date for North American and European players. The beta will launch on the 10th of this month and you will need to be given a code to access it.

Well if the timeline of the PC beta is anything to go on, there won't be a PS3 beta this year. That should give you an idea how far behind they are on PS3.. as though they have barely even started.

I doubt that. The PS3 version is more then likely well under way. People need to remember this is a MMO not a single player game. It's MUCH bigger and getting everything to work perfectly is alot more important then a single player game.(as it can cause unbalance to the entire game)

Yea it's pc only for now, PS3 version of the game will be delayed till around March 2011

Only the alpha testers get to be in the beta right now. SE will give out more codes later in the month I believe.

BAH! Why cant they just have an open beta? Especially with the game being so close to release. You would think they would need to stress test the servers a little bit. Not to mention get an idea for how many people want to play the game. Oh well. I hope i get a key :D
