Sucker Punch reveals to Play that the leap Ubisoft made between Assassin's Creed and ACII was an inspiration for Cole MacGrath's evolution in inFamous 2.
Cole has NOTHING on Ezio/Altair. Parkour has style and rhythm, not simple climb, shimmy and jump. http://www.americanparkour....
Assasins Creed 2 is one of the most overated games. The game somehow graphically is worst than Assasins Creed 1
not only do the graphics look worst but the acting is far worst too. ezio has the worst italian accent since mario. the combat is also lame you can just stand there hitting the counter button and kill everyone with one hit. the game is very repetitive and has almost no side missions. the ac franchise is the second worst open world franchise this gen with crackdown being the 1st worst. the only thing ac does that is good is have an original story an even that still doesn't match infamous' story.
Yea and AC gets a free pass just because it takes place in the medieval realm. If you have knights, pirates, zombies, ninjas, or sorcerers the game will always get a free pass.
cole may not be pointlessly graceful, but infamous has THE BEST parkour mechanic, since you can climb 95% of EVERYTHING, whereas assasins creed is limited, and assasisn creed 2 is more open, but still no way as open as infamous.
This is exactly the kind of news that I like to hear. I'm going to get flamed for this, but inFamous wasn't as great as people made it out to be. It was overhyped in my opinion. It had the potential to be great (much like the first Assassin's Creed), but ended up falling flat due to the repetitiveness of it making it boring about halfway through. This became a huge problem for me. Assassin's Creed was the same way. Then they really stepped it up and fleshed out the potential when it came to ACII. If Sucker Punch makes the improvements like Ubisoft did with ACII, then inFamous 2 is going to be an amazing title. Like I said, the first was a great idea and awesome in concept. Just wasn't fleshed out and didn't truly realize it's potential. Step it up and do like ACII did and inFamous 2 could be one of the better games of this generation.
PS3 fans always make their games out to better than they really are. I'm not going to lie, tons of PS3 exclusives are VERY good games, but fanboys act like every PS3 exclusive is the best game ever made.
cant say i agree. i enjoyed infamous even more tha ACII. i might be alone in this but infamous was the first sandbox game i finished 2 times. but this sounds really cool couse ACII was really good too, so infamous 2 will rock my socks off. cant wait.
and I enjoyed Infamous more.. may be because it had more action .. but it was actually FUN. and I dont agree with repetitiveness comments about this game, may be you dont have 30 abilities or 20 kind of magic or sth , but you can kill enemies with simple abilities in different ways and enjoy the game.. cant wait for Infamous 2
Sounds like you get bored easily. All games have repetitive gameplay but it's the ones that keep it from getting boring that are the the most fun. Infamous did get boring from time to time so I agree with that and most games tend not to hit the ceiling when it comes to potential which is where sequals come in to improve on what the original had done. All in all though I think it was a really good game and really liked the twist at the end.
@x__JL__X I have to disagree about inFamous being over hyped. inFamous did suffer from some very boring repetitive side quests but the main story missions, occasional set pieces and boss battles were far more interesting than anything the first Assassins Creed had to offer. The controls were beautifully responsive and the combat was far more enjoyable imho, and as far as story and narrative goes I think inFamous was by far the more involving game. I do agree that there certainly is room for improvement and that inFamous didn't realise its full potential but few games do in their first iteration.
It wasn't over hyped...where the hell are you coming from? It's one of the most underrated games.
I never played ac2 but I did pass ac1. Haven't tried inFamous. So I'm gonna say IDK! BTW: I thought AC1 was waaaay overrated! (Repetitive as hell)
AC2 is overrated.
game library. inFAMOUS is. why? because it is probably one of the best feeling and controlling sandbox games in the industry. the amount of control you have over Cole is amazing. he is a joy to maneuver through the city. the control scheme in both Assassin's Creed games is cumbersome and often imprecise. i can't tell you how many times i had to do the one hidden temple section where you have to leap across the beams in the church on a timer, and if you were just slightly angled, Ezzio would go flying off in a completely different direction. i guess the best way to describe the controls in inFAMOUS would be "precise." i NEVER had to think about my leaps and jumps. Cole would go where i wanted him to go. there were definitely some issues with his "stickiness" when climbable points were really close together, but 98% of the time, Cole did exactly what i intended for him to do. can't say the same for other parkour games like Assassin's Creed and Prince of Persia (although i think Prince of Persia 2008 had some fantastically responsive controls also). anyway, AC2 was an amazing sequel. most of the things game play related that irked me about the original were fixed. the protagonist was more likeable and personable, and the narrative was better paced and executed. i'm looking forward to Brotherhood, and then the true Assassin's Creed 3. inFAMOUS 2 is looking like such a leap over inFAMOUS 1, and i'm sure that's what Sucker Punch is referencing when talking about how AC2 improved over AC1 significantly.
This needs more playb3yond.
i was a little worried at first because ac2 is garbage luckly they are only using it as inspiration for only the animations basically. hopefully they can make the parkour moves better then ac2 because holding down one button and moving the analog stick while everything happens automatically is just dumb.
Missions like the junk skytower, the bridge boss fight, and even the frustrating poison balloons made the first game feel epic, I want to see a lot more of that, then it will be in untcharted2 and GOW3 class. Would also like to see side missions become side stories like in RDR.
The poison balloons in no way made the game feel epic. They were dumb. Good game though, but that part... nah. I agree with the junk tower, good part.
assassin's creed and infamous are similar games in the term of the climbing dynamic, so this is good to hear, especially since assassins' creed 2 was a huge improvement.
Awesome to hear developers i love praise other developers i love. Gives me hope that the industry may actually be moving forward. This game looks amazing. Day one for sure.
