Mortal Kombat 2011 “Built For Hardcore Players”

I must say, this resurgence of fighting game popularity is the best thing to happen since sliced bread! The new Mortal Kombat reboot that is slated for next year is no exception, either. The game’s first rebooted installment will be geared towards the “hardcore player,” since, according to MK co-creator Ed Boon, hardcore players are the most vocal. Boon does freely admit that there are more casual players out there, and that in the end, the numbers will have to be big with the casual players as well for the game to be a commercial success. The game itself is designed to have features that are at such a high level of play that only hardcore players will be able to take advantage of it. Casual players may not even know that those features exist. Sounds good to us! GET OVER HERE!

I am excited to see it in 3D. Seeing Kung Lao throwing his hat out towards thescreen and catching it and slicing the dude in half, blood exploding everywhere, just gets me pumped. So old school, except so new school. Thank you MK for getting your crap together and giving us what we want.

Wait... what? A game with fatalities for Casual players? Hmmm... am I missing something?

Maaayybbeee he is talking about the gameplay instead of how the game looks. Yes, the gameplay should be easy enough for the newcomers to pick up the controller and start kicking ass but it should have combos, moves and awesome fighting techniques to satisfy the hardcore players as well.

Oh and Mr. Boon, for the love of God!!! You made MKvsDC only for Casuals and it didn't help you save Midway going bankrupt. Casuals do NOT always mean better sales. If that was the case, we wouldn't have ever seen mega franchies such as Resident Evil get established.

Give your true fanbase what they want and word of mouth will bring you new fans, new buyers and more money.
