PSP World: Manic Monkey Mayhem Review

PSP Minis review by Coty Biggs. Manic Monkey Mayhem is a wittingly entertaining title that mischievously evokes some of that ape-like 98% of your DNA.

From the get go its clear this game is not to be taken seriously, without putting on airs as some grandiose white collar title. No, Manic Monkey Mayhem is simple, goofy, here to stir up chuckles and remind everyone that games don't have to be complicated to be fun.

GDN: Manic Monkey Mayhem Review

GDN: "So Manic Monkey Mayhem puts you in the role of a banana throwing monkey. In that role you have to throw a lot of bananas at other monkeys to win. After a massively long, and utterly forgettable (and tedious), string of tutorials, you’re allowed to play the game. Why do I say they’re forgettable? Because a day later, I had forgotten all of the controls and there’s no in-game menu to refresh your memory (poor design there).iphone image - better than PSP."

Go! Gaming Giant Reviews Two Weeks of WiiWare

From the review:

"Welcome to another installment of Wiikly WiiWare Wiiview. Things are a bit different this time around because someone apparently thought it would be funny to hack the Go! Gaming Giant servers last weekend, which left me unable to publicize the latest reviews. As such, I have decided to combine last week’s review with this week’s to create one large WiiWare extravaganza. The games for last week were Viral Survival, Manic Monkey Mayhem, and Art Style: Light Trax. The games for this week were Robocalypse: Beaver Defense, Voodoo Dice, and Ben 10 Alien Force: The Rise of Hex."

IGN: Manic Monkey Mayhem Review

IGN writes: "The game proper hosts a few different variations of "last monkey standing" as you go for high scores and try to survive being knocked from your floating platform, and you might have a bit of fun with it if you recruit another human or two to toss some bananas around with you -- but it's the kind of ironic fun where you're enjoying the experience in spite of the game, not because of it. Cap it all off with the fact that it costs a too-expensive eight dollars to download, and Manic Monkey Mayhem is an easy skip".
