Metal Gear Solid Rising: Developer Interview

The creators behind Metal Gear Solid: Rising discuss cutting gameplay, where Raiden fits in the Metal Gear timeline, and hints at a possible appearance from Snake.

The story is too old to be commented.

If the game is between MGS2 and MGS4, if we see snake will he be old or young snake

where Raiden was missing and no one knew where he was and when he returnd he was a changed man.

o.0 what does he mean they are not really concentrating on pleasing the MGS fans wtf kind of nonsense is that. My god they are taking the same route as ff13. I mean if you started a whole new story great but your just filling in the gaps with raiden which is still important. Ughhh I have a feeling I will be disappointed by this story. The fans comes first then the new comers. We have seen what happens when you neglect the core fans and concentrate on bringing new comers. The results never end well.

Unicron3030d ago

Indeed. You want to branch out the franchise, fine. But make it an insular or new story. Don't try to fill in main MGS events with a game not aimed at MGS fans I feel.

I will be honest with you, metal gear solid 4 was awesome way to end the story, but there was too many cutscenes... It made the game stupid and made you not want to run through the game a second time. Beleive me i tried... its like u have to wait 20-30 min just to start playing the game.

I think a change is good. MGS4 was change from the rest of the metal gear series... and i think it was change in a bad way. The gameplay camera was too much like gears of war and the cutscenes were just irritating after a while. This is change in a good way. Everyones always wanted to play as one of the cyborg ninjas. They are making a fun balanced game thats not a long cutscene.

ZombieAutopsy3030d ago

You know you can skip the cutscenes right?

just admit it. You've hated this game as soon as you found out it's multiplatform.
Your previous comments all suggest this.

Let's not judge games before getting a proper look at it first please.

Colonel-Killzone3030d ago (Edited 3030d ago )

Link me to that comment. Because I never posted anything about me hating this since it went Multiplatform. Please Shut the fuck up.

I don't know whats wrong with some of you idiots on this site. But when someone express something about a Franchise that used to be a playstation exclusive you assume oh they are ranting because its coming to the xbox 360. I could care fucking less honestly.

I said he just said in the damn video We are not focusing on the core fans but attracting new comers. Like wtf ?? Thats a slap in the face to the fans. And I mention FF13 because they slapped us in face also the with their lies and the disappointing story and also key elements that were missing from the game.

lol, only just saw your reply.

Your excuses are pitiful. If the name of the game wasn't Metal Gear Solid, you'd be having a completely different opinion about this.

They've told us numerous times that this is a spinoff. That's why they are focusing on newcomers. If you had a couple of braincells you'd understand that means storywise it won't be so heavily focused on the previous games like MGS4 was.
If you played MGS4, you'd know that you would not be able to understand a single thing in the story unless you played MGS1, MGS2 and MGS3.

That's what they mean't by newcomers. As we know, this is a spinoff, so to start a new story for newcomers to understand should be obvious.

And about FF13. Why the hell are you comparing it? These are completely different developers. Kojima Productions is not Square-Enix fool! How can you doubt Kojima Productions after every single game they have made has been both extremely successful and praised.
And Final Fantasy and Metal Gear Solid are completely different genres and characters and themes. ROFL

Dude Its not abut multiplatform its abut the game story and gameplay. If they cannot get those tat wat we Die Hard MGS fans wanted. It wud be total FAIL!!!! MGS Is All Abut Shooting and Stealth Not Hack N SLASH.It will be total dissapointed for gamers who havnt played MGS before they will not get the feel tat we hav got from the previous MGS series. They will think tat MGS is all abut HACK N SLASH.

Duke Spookem3030d ago

Because after you play Rising and listen to their irrelevant storyline you'll realize that at best it's nothing but a fanfic and by the end of the game the same gaps will still be there. The game isn't being directed by Kojima so the story doesn't matter at all and it won't be canon regardless of all their PR talk.
